Docks
The various docks around Esau supply ships and dockage, as well as Fishing equipment.
Docking fees vary depending on size of settlement and who regulates those docks.
Large trading hubs will have cheaper dock fees since they simply have giant docks, wharfs, etc. Plus logistical systems that separate unloading cargo verus someone just "parking the ship".
Whereas, a small trading town might have one or two docks able to service a large vessel, and they want to keep it as open as often as possible.
CITY
Docking maintenance fee: 1 cp per ship tonnage.Docking insurance (optional): 1 sp per 10 ship tons
Rental fee: 1 sp per day spent at the docks
Import tax: 2% to 5% of the value of any item unloaded from the ship
Sales tax: 10%
Export tax: 5% of the value of every item leaving the premises
LARGE TOWN
Dock in a safe location with local guards, services for loading and unloading cargo, = 10 gp per day.* This can protect the boat from banditry and provide a bonus to moving cargo and resupplying.
Shady part of the docks with a lower fee = 2 or 5 gp per day.
* If you do not leave enough of the crew aboard there is a risk of thievery.
Anchor in the harbor at no cost - but the only way to move to the mainland or trade goods is via a small boat or skiff.
WATERBORNE VEHICLES
+ Galley = 30,000gp - 4 mph+ Keelboat = 3,000gp - 1 mph
+ Longship = 10,000gp - 3 mph

+ Sailing Ship = 10,000gp - 2 mph
+ Warship = 25,000gp - 2½ mph
Purpose / Function
roll d10 fishing
• Fishing tackle is already an item. Without it, or other appropriate gear (netting on an ocean-going boat), you make the Wisdom (Survival check) at disadvantage.
• The DC is set by location and conditions. If you know you're in a location where tuna are schooling or salmon are spawning, it ought to be easy. If you have no idea what's in the water or the water is polluted, it should be difficult.
• Bait-and-line fishing: On success, roll on table - most of the rolls bring in a small fish or a medium-sized fish.
• I allow alternate equipment for the Folk Hero (see below). This is largely to accommodate someone who is a miner or fisherman by trade (not just farmers and simple artisans).
