Localized Phenomena
FENHSAGAR FALLS
The Fenhsagar Falls is a majestic waterfall where the white water gushing through the steep and vertical face of the glistening mountain (that contains unreachable diamonds) portrays a cascading effect. The cascading effect of this waterfall gives rise to the illusion of a milky white sea falling from such a great height. The moment the water gushing out from the Falls flow towards its feet, it forms a jade green pool at its base. It is from here that the water of the Fenhsagar Falls starts flowing northwards into the Fen Sounds, to then join The Wayward Sea.The monsoon period is by far the best season to sight to the Fenhsagar Falls. The water levels are above normal, thus giving rise to the splendid cascading effect as the water flows down through the verdant hills. The climate will also be pleasant at the base of the magnificent waterfalls. This enticing waterfall magnetizes those people who do see it. the serenity of the surroundings is worth all the efforts - it has a breathtaking charm.
The literal meaning of Fenhsagar is Sylvan language “Sea of Milk”. The waterfall has a height of 1,000 feet.
History
There is an age-old legend associated with the name of Fenhsagar Falls. Once upon a time, there was a fey princess who was the second daughter of the King of the Fairies. This lady was both modest and beautiful, as well as said to be in the piousness of heart, mind, and soul.
According to the legend, this princess would regularly bathe in a lake located close to her father’s castle. After bathing, she would before stepping out of the lake, along with her handmaidens who assembled alongside the glimmering lake, drink. The princess and her handmaidens would each consume a whole jug of goat's milk. The princess' jug was made of pure gold, the jar was inlaid with some brightly sparkling diamonds.
Once, while she was busy drinking her jug of milk, while standing in the lake, she was sighted by a young and beautiful prince (of the Elves) who trespassed the nearby forest. The moment he heard the laughter of these ladies, he had stopped then and watched.
The princess was only wrapped in minimal bathing attire. In hock she dropped her precious jug, causing a milky mist to form around her legs. On seeing this, her handmaidens poured their jugs of milk into the lake and over the hills to produce a cascading effect. It was done to create a mist to screen the princess, who could then immediately wrap herself in her royal clothes.
It is said the Elven prince left without even knowing her name.
This cascading milky appearance, which was believed to guard the modesty of the royal princess. The lake melded into the flowing milk and ceased to be a lake at all. By those of Kutloc, this is considered to be the legend of Fenhsagar Falls.
