The Feywild Realm
The Feywilds
The Feywild Realm (also called The Feywilds) was formed as the Moata Solar System was being formed by Moatama (the Creation; the Creator).The Feywild Realm was created by godlike entities known as the Primordials. These supreme entities were born from the Elemental Chaos, and they only exist to leave the whole universe in disarray. The Primordial's desire for mayhem resulted in numerous conflicts between them, Moatama and various Deities.
The Feywild Realm is a land of contradictions, bright and yet dark, beautiful yet deadly, and full of endless wonder. It is a wild and raw reflection of the Prime Material Plane of Esau. Those who wander its enchanted roads discover miracles and wonders undreamed of in the mortal world. In the Feywilds, the laws of science, logic, and reason defer to the arts of magic, story, and rhyme. Ordinary animals and objects converse as eloquently as any worldly mortal.
The Feywild Realm is a parallel plane of existence, a reflection of the natural world that exists alongside the world of Esau. The Feywild is a place of great beauty, but also great danger. The Feywild is a plane of chaos and randomness. The very air is alive with magic, and even the most mundane objects can be imbued with magical power.
It is inhabited by creatures of all kinds, both good and evil. These are Fey creatures: Elves, sprites, Pixies, and other Fey. There is no natural order to the Feywild Realm, and no guarantee that anything will stay the same from one moment to the next. The Feywild is also a place of great magic.
It was believed that the original Deities worshiped by the Eladrin Elves, were the Faerie gods of the Seelie Court, originated in the Feywild Realm. The first creatures to join them in this world were the Fey, and came in many forms. This realm came to be ruled by a mysterious Fey creator race, who gave rise to the first korreds, sprites, Elves and Pixies.
The Feywild, also known as the Realm of Faerie or simply Faerie, is an "echo" of the Prime Material Plane suffused with Fey Types of Magic, and unrestrained emotions. It is the place from which Fey originated, and from where the first kinds of Elves arrived.
The Fey themselves delight in favours and making deals. There is a mysterious magic when one makes a deal or takes an oath with a faerie, a woe be to those that break it. The concept of a debt and obligation is a huge factor in how they behave. Their abilities with words often allows them to snare an unsuspecting mortal to their advantage. A promise thrice made is as close to absolute truth as a Fey can give; asking a question three times binds the third answer as the truth.
Oaths put mutual obligation on both parties, such as an oath of fealty to a Fey Sovereign puts an obligation on the Fey Sovereign to carry out the obligations of the one who is sworn to them. If they are not able to for whatever reason, it as consequences, maybe even death.
Natives = Eladrin, Elves, Fey, fomorians, goblins
Fey Courts
* Court of Shadows* Court of the Dawn
* Court of One Million Stars
The three Fey courts rarely see eye to eye, however maintain a deep respect and understanding of the necessity of each other, and as a result conflicts are hardly more than brief scrimmages: banter, feats of skill, cunning, wordsmithing. On occasional more violent forms of conflict will occur. It is believed every Fey conflict has a great effect on our nature, weather, and the environment around us.
Many Fey are known to never tell lies. However, they are all wordsmiths; this means that when they do speak the truth, their words can be misleading and dual meaning. People need to be careful to ponder all the meanings of what they say. All Fey are mischievous by nature however most rarely mean any harm.
Twice a year the three courts meet towards the middle of the Winter and Summer seasons to pass the light. Every 100 years, their is a re-coronation or a transference their reign. In order to maintain a balance each of the courts has a symbol held at these celebrations. This way balance is maintained.
ASPECTS
Colour pools = Emerald greenEthereal curtains = Opalescent white
Shape and size = Infinite
Gravity = Light
Time = Erratic
Morphic trait = Alterable
The Feywild is a place of unrestrained and awe-inspiring natural beauty. The plane is always bathed in twilight of the setting (or perhaps rising) sun, with lanterns and fireflies providing additional, haunting lights. Visitors to the plane find that all sensations, both sensory and emotional, are heightened. Smells are stronger, colours are more vivid, and sounds are clearer, but at the same time shadows are darker and impulses are harder to control. Strong emotions even alter the landscape of the Feywild itself, wilting flowers trail the despondent or furious, and carefree animals travel alongside chipper and cheerful individuals.
As an "echo" of the Prime Material plane, its geography is similar although not entirely identical to that of Esau and Lyre - however, the natural landscape is markedly more dramatic and beautiful in the Feywild, with mountains standing straighter and sharper, rivers flowing clearer and faster, flowers bloom brighter and more fragrantly, and weather manifesting in supernatural ways.
While most Prime locations and landmarks have analogues in the Feywilds, sites of civilization in the Prime Material Plane can be so unimportant in the Feywild as to be easily missed, while natural landmarks may be significantly more majestic or extreme. Navigating the Feywild is further complicated by the fact that distances do not always make sense. While two landmarks may be the same distance apart as in the Prime when travelling in one direction, they may be inexplicably further or closer on the return trip.
Further complicating any visit to the realm is that time does not flow the same in the Feywild Realm as on the Prime Material Plane. While any visitor will experience time flowing as normal, it is often the case that more time is passing in the Prime Material plane, sometimes on the order of weeks, months, or years longer than expected, although it is also possible for little or no time to have passed instead. More concerning, leaving the Feywild can have dire consequences. Lost time can suddenly "catch up" to a mortal, sending them into fits of Exhaustion or hunger, or even killing them instantly if many years have passed. At the same time, those with no Fey ancestry may find their memories of time spent in the Feywild going hazy, if not vanishing altogether.
Arcane magic runs more freely and powerfully in the Feywilds than it did in the Prime Material plane, and it is for this reason that so many of its inhabitants and landmarks are suffused with magic. As an additional consequence of this all-encompassing magic, arcane spells tend to be amplified in power or duration when cast in the Feywild, and other times will manifest in entirely unexpected ways.
THE FOUR RIVERS
* Goolian River - murky, giant toads* Ukkah River - shimmers clear, water nymphs
* Draak River - rough water, a water dragon
* Kokoinos River - white water rapids,
THE COURT OF SHADOW
THE SHADOWS
The Shadows reflect natures darker aspects and the lands of the Shadows are usually found to be a twisted, crueler and harsher then the Summer Lands. Four wild rivers travel through the dark Woods. It is Uncertain if the taint of darkness are influenced by the lands of the Court of Shadow, or the evilness of those Fey of the Court of Shadow tainted by the land within the Shadows.THE WINTER COURTS
The Winter Court is the main settlement for the Court of Shadow, and is filled with opulence and grand design. The Courts rest on a high plateau in the heart of a dark forest in the approximate center of the Shadows.The gray-twilight gloom of the Shadows occasionally breaks in the sky above the Court of Shadow Fey, allowing the stars to show their glittering points of light to those that study illumination magic. Even the moon shines directly on the Exiled King’s home, The Tower of the Moonlit Shadows.
The Winter Court consists of four main sections:
* The Royal Halls,
* The Tower of the Moonlit Shadows
* The Winter Palace
* The Lower Court
The population of the Winter Court is always in flux, with only the most noble and lofty members of the court (along with their servants, consorts, and courtesans) in permanent residence within the Royal Halls and Winter Palace.
In the upper portions of the Winter Courts, in part of the Winter Palace and the Royal Halls called The Tower of the Moonlit Shadows . The Winter Palace functions as the traditional seat of the exciled king, Ludomir Imbrium, The Moonlit King, though he only walks its halls when the strange seasons of Fey rule turn and his Winter Court ascends. Otherwise, the ultimate power over Court of Shadow and by extension much of The Shadows, is the King's wife, her Transcendent Majesty, Sarastra Aestruum, the Queen of Night and Magic, and nephew Ulorian the River King. She dwells in the Night Halls, along with the upper crust of the Court of Shadow society. While Ulorian resides within the River Halls.
RIVERCROSS
Ulorian the River King resides where the four river cross, named Rivercross - in a realm of Fey glamour and silty water.The Wild Mother
The origin home of The Wild Mother named Melora is the Feywild Realm, but extends to wherever the seas shift and the land grows wild. As the keeper of the wilderness, Melora represents the wild creatures of nature, the rush of the angry rapids, and the heat-heavy stillness of the desert. The Wild Mother prefers to wander the Feywild Realm and the life-supporting planets of the Prime Material Prime of Esau and Lyre, to oversee natural life, but has accidentially trapped herself in the Feywild Expanse of Kutlkoc - when she was driven into madness.Inhabitants
The inhabitants of the Feywild vary in temperament from kind to malicious, but almost all have a mischievous side to them and few stop to consider the needs or worries of visitors to their home. While many of those living in Faerie are untamed, large numbers also congregate according to race or by political allegiance.] Just as the geography is reminiscent of Esau or Lyre, some of its inhabitants exist as Fey "echoes" of Prime Material plane creatures.All manner of Fey species are found within the Feywild. Other creatures that dwell within the Feywild included faerie Dragons, phoenix fairies, haregon, Xorn; goblinoids, ogres, Elementals, Giants, and blights can all be found in areas of the realm.
The Vale
The Vale is not the vale at Taesiara. The Vale is where the Feywild kingdom of lycanthropes and were creatures attracted outcasts and refugees from across the realms of mortals. It has a long and bloodied history, having been founded by a werewolf lord that fought for his people's freedom from the neighbouring eladrin. Despite its past, The Vales' residents garner benefits from choosing to remain in the Feywild realm that are unavailable to their kin that dwelled on Esau and Lyre.The lycanthropes of The Vale are suspected to be under the protection of the Archfey known as Moon Maiden, Candra. The magic that permeates The Vale that allows them to control their transformation, a blessing from her.
Once home to Aurusel, the Great Gardener - who now dwells in the Shadowfell.
Iliyanbruen
The elven survivor-state of an ancient region that reformed in the Feywild following its near-complete destruction on Esau. The Iliyanbruen Elves are perceived as invaders by the native Fey, and are forced to fight for their new home for many centuries.Nachtur
One of the most powerful goblin kingdoms in all the Feywild. It is labyrinth of underground warrens ruled over by the Great Gark, Lord of All the Goblins. Gark commands a host of mercenaries that serve many malevolent beings such as Hags and Winter Fey lords.Malabog
The region of Malabog, the fomorian king that extends his area of conquest beyond The Shadows of the Court of Shadow into the wilderness up above.Feydark
The Feydark is the echo of Esau 's Underdark of Ru'Mal and Ru'Than, within the Feywild Realm. Like most parts of the Feywild, it is more majestic and fantastic than its natural counterpart, with cavernous maze-like tunnels filled with exotic fungi.Domains of Delight
Within the Feywild are numerous sub-realms created by the Archfey, independent realms that are each formed to reflect the whims and and emotions of its creator. They grow or shrink in size depending on the power of their Archfey, occasionally leading to discontent among their leaders when borders of neighbouring domains overlapped with one another.One of the more prominent domains of delight was Prismeer, the realm of Zybilna. The domain was shattered by the Hourglass Coven of Hags and reformed as three splinter-realms of Hither, Thither, and Yon.
Also found within Prismeer was the lesser domain of Fablerise. This gloomy forest was created by Yarnspinner, an enormous Fey spider that attracted myriad awakened animals with his near endless supplies of stories and tales.
Localized Phenomena
Motes of energy that originate in the Feywild manifeste as feywild sparks. These are highly sought after by adventurers that dare to brave the planes perilous wilderness.
It is believed barrier between the Feywild Realm and Esau was especially weaker at certain times of the year. These occasions are celebrated as the holiday Fey Fancy, especially in Devai within the Northern Isle.
The most common means of traversing in or out of the Feywild Realm is through a Fey crossroad, which often requires special knowledge of how to pass between the planes.
Fauna & Flora
The Feywild Realm is home to unique varieties of plant life, including various fungi that hold supernatural properties. Notable among these are eldercaps, Executioner's Hoods, and hummingbrellas.
