Dragons
Dragons are serpentine creatures that have similairities to reptilian creatures - classified as Magical Creatures. Generally, Dragons have four legs, claws, are covered in scales, two wings, a tail and possibly spikes along their backs - in adulthood a Dragon will grow to be a massive creature.
There are people on Esau, and the other life sustaining planet of Lyre, who doubt the existence of Dragons, and think of them as creatures of legends.
However, it is rare for someone to not at least see on flying above, once or twice in their lifetime - no matter how short they live. Therefore, the truth of the Dragons existence remains, and the stories are retold.
The Dragons of Esau are mostly wise and watchful. Many dragons avoid interfering with the daily lives of people.
Dragons become stronger as they grow older; they also become larger, more resistant to damages and magic, have a more dangerous breath, and a great deal of other enhanced aspects. Their strength and capabilities does depend on the colour of their scales.

Civilization and Culture
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Although learning to read dragonic runes and language sounds like a good idea when trying to make friends with dragons, there are 3 basic problems:-
1) If you make a simple mistake you may not live long enough to correct your mistake
2) You cannot unlearn what you may read - not matter how much you wish too
3) You will never, no matter how hard you try, ever get the accent right
