Wyverns
WYVERN
The Wyverns of Esau are large winged lizards, (distantly related to the Dragons), with a poisonous stinging tail and sharp teeth. A Wyverns tail ends in a diamond or arrow shaped tip. Wyverns from adult to elder and ancient do have simliar breath weapons to Dragons.
Unlike Dragons who have wings, a tail and four limbs - Wyverns are bipedal, so have only two limbs, plus wings and a tail. Although some can live as long as a Dragon, they are less incline to, due to battling amongst themselves and with other Wonderous Creatures.
These flying creatures vary in length from 15 to 35 feet (4.6 to 11 meters), weighing around a ton, and are covered in scales. They typically have either red or orange eyes, and their jaws are filled with rows of long, sharp teeth.
Unlike "true Dragons", Wyverns only have a pair of hind legs instead of a set four. Their wingspan can get over 50 feet (15 meters) in length. Their tails are often quite long, comprising almost half of their bodies, yet very mobile. There tails ended in a thick cartilage knot, making a diamond or arrow shaped tip, with a stinger protruding out of it, not unlike that of a scorpion.
Telltale sounds that these creatures produced included loud hisses and throated growls, similar to the vocalizations of alligators.
Wyverns are inherently evil. Wyverns are aggressive, although not as intelligent as Dragons. They are not averse to attacking anything less powerful than themselves. Their sleek, strong legs prove very useful for an attack.
Wyverns are usually able to understand of Deep Speech, Draconic, Infernal, Primordial and Uncommon. [They do not speak.]
