The Pitcher

The Pitcher is a "traveling" Inn and Drinking tavern of Kutloc.

Exterior
It looks to be made to fit in surrounding with large wooden door. Long leaved bushes grow around path to door.

Interior
Inside looks clean although looks old. Wooden polished walls, ceiling and floor. High ceiling and wide doors. Gas lighting with copper fittings. Leadlight windos that do not allow patrons to see out or what time of day it is. From bar, can see down hall - there are five doors (two on each side and one double door at end). First doors are kitchen with store room opposite. The toilets (smell vile) and office/bedroom for staff.
A magic cloth, mop and broom constantly clean up any spills.

CELLAR
The double doors led down to dimly lit stairs into the cellar - the stairs go to the wall, then along the wall, and then back on themselves down into the cellar (a C shape). It is dark, warm and damp - bookshelf (containing books left behind, non-magical history, fiction and the like) on right about 60ft from stairs, moves to reveal storage of barrels and other items
Show spoiler
contains 1x Elder Black Pudding and 4x standard Black Pudding - Sleeping area (10 beds/barrack cots) is door on left as enter - contains 3x more Black Puddings.
The cellar walls lined with gas lights with copper fixtures - past bookshelf is very dark lights been dissolved - there was 1x Elder Black Pudding and 2x standard Black Pudding.

STAFF
Louie
Bartender, dark skinned male Half-Orc - bald, wear plaid cap, and bracers over a striped shirt with long shorts - never goes into cellar - friendly enough, quite cheerful - not owner of Tavern;
Mews
Halfling-sized mechanic humanoid - clockwork workings visible thru panel. Cannot talk. Fills storage room from the cellar. Very set on task - will go around people to complete task;
Venra
Female Half-Elf artificer works on Mews - greasy hands , clothes and braided light brown hair.
Greg = Human cook - looks like a ship's cook

THE GARGOLYE
Sitting on the end of the bar is small stone Gargoyle statue - the Half-Elf has been fiddling with the statue to give it a voice box with no success so far.
It is about two and a half feet tall, terribly ugly, and extremely heavy. Its face is carved into a wide impish grin and it holds a delicate looking stone flower in one hand. The bottom and back sides of it look ragged, as if the Gargoyle was chipped away from its original location and brought here.
If the players don't seem interested in the statue, eventually one of the regular patrons will challenge them:
"Bet you five silver you can't get the flower out of its hand."
Anyone touching the Gargoyle is instantly teleported 10 feet backwards (Dexterity Saving Throw of DC19 negates).
Unfortunately, their equipment and clothing does not come with them and all falls in a heap while they land naked ten feet away.
If a person touches it with a gloved or gauntleted hand, then only the glove or gauntlet is teleported.
When it happens, the whole place gets a huge laugh out of it.
If a player touches it and makes their save (which happens occasionally), the whole bar lets out a collective "Awwww!" but the flower cannot be moved in any case.

SHOTS
See Drinking
* All shots cost 5 gold each and the spell effects last for one hour.
* Drinking one shot will likely make a player slightly inebriated within twenty minutes.
* If a player drinks two shots simultaneously (the equivalent of six large ales at once) they will be fully inebriated within twenty minutes.
* The bartender will not sell more than four drinks to any one person in one visit out of fear they will get alcohol poisoning

NAME
The Pitcher is named because all drinks, except shots, served in pitchers - also it is like a pitcher plant ... people are drawn in but never leave, as dined on by Black Puddings in the cellar.
"Rest down stairs if you like"
"Strange sounds come from below"
"The bookshelf is well stocked"

Purpose / Function

It is like a pitcher plant - finds people who will be patrons - to feed the family of Black Puddings in cellar.

History

The town of Vartol is located on the edge of Feywild Expanse, within Kutloc.
Once a peaceful, pretty town, it was claimed by The Enchantress Ezmia as her homebase. When The Wild Mother entrapped the town, as The Wild Mother Melora tried to stop the growing power of The Enchantress Ezmia, she used a great deal of her strenght and sanity (which was already weakened by the Lands trauma).
Before leaving Kutloc for good, The Enchantress 'unlocked' the Tavern known as The Pitcher from the town of Vartol - so it roams semi-freely through the Feywild Expanse to find "patrons" (food for the Black Pudding family in the basement).
