Human

Humans are a short-lived race, who have not existed in Esau as long as many of the older races, such as Elves, Gnome, etc. Despite this fact the are quite widespread in most parts of Esau.

They are well-known for their diversity and ambition, and although they can lack any specialization, they can excel in many areas.

Humans usually mix well with most other races of Esau, often serving as ambassadors, merchants, and diplomats and picking up the native languages of the races they deal with most. This trait means humans are found all over the world, and often have the blood of other races in their lineage. The lifespan of the typical human may be short compared to many other races, but their societies, kingdoms, and cities are built to endure the test of time.

They are known to have children with other races - most well known are the Elves, which created the Half-Elf race.

They have however, been known to at times enslave some people of other races - especially Genasi.

Humans all tend to speak, read, and write Common - many know at least one other language.

Humans typically learn the languages of other peoples they deal with, including obscure dialects. They are fond of sprinkling their speech with words borrowed from other tongues.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

While natural subraces of humans do exist, with either natural or unnatural origins, it is more often mixed races of Human and others. Half-Elf, Half-Orc and Dhampir are the most noteably of these species.

There is a great ethnic diversity in Esau in different regions.
