Onata

Onata is on the north coast of the Northern Isle.

A town where some iof the people are hermaphrodite (all races - mainly Human, Half-Elf, dwarf, Tabaxi and firbog), or non-binary.

Onata is a coastal town - new wharf has been built attached to town (12 years ago). Old skinny wharf is about an hour East of the town. [Farr is 8 hours East of Onata].

The centre of trade, and is known for its artists and writers.
The ruler (Rollin Amastacia, Male Noble Elf) is a flamboyant person who wants the races to live together in harmony.

The Onata Woods to East along road use to be a lot larger, wood was used to make town. Many housemartins live in the woods and often fly into the town.


Main street - has small log rounds placed to pave main street. At the crossroads in the centre, there is a small paved with stone slabs courtyard to the SW side with a sundial and hours painted on the stone.


A single child with leg in a splint, halfling-Gnome Landri Fiddlesticks playing with something [Tarantula] that scuttles into the long grass - town's gardener's (Forix) child.


BEACH
Sand is muddy, sink into wet sand. A row of seven Naptovis trees line the shore, just past low dunes and sea grasses.

Onata Nature Museum

Curator = Saelee Birchaxe (Dwarf-Elf; they/them) - artist who paints the scenery for the displays, and sells paintings of landscapes - pride in collection.
Taxidermist = Mayra Ligwich (Half-Elf; she/her) - Also, switches small hangings embroidered of the display animals for sale.
Inside the log building is an amazing collection of stuffed animals - including Owlbear, housemartins, Blood Ape, Unicorn, Umberhulk, Ankheg, Sea Elephant, Flumph {hanging}, Displacer beast, peacock and peahen, feathered rabbits, Jungle Fish, Tigerlily, Tortoise, lama, Octopus, camel, donkey, [no Dragons - fear of the threat from Dragons].

Onata Nari Library

Book Seller - Library
Name Nari is due to Firborg founder of the town) a building made of light grey stone blocks. Owlbear figures on a plinth on each side of the steps leading up to solid wooden doors. Inside has a few vintage dark wood desks in view of the librarian's desk. Then there are rows and rows of shelves - the small high window let in soft sunlight, where dust particles float. The place is calm and well lit (all flame is enclosed lanterns).

THE SILK PETALS

Whorehouse and Drinking tavern
Along the Southern road there is a bar/tavern with 'day' rooms upstairs. Known for gambling, drinks and 'company'.
Barkeep: Burly Jim Murdoch (Human male) large and solidly bulit, with black beard, bald on top. Has small green eyes. A tattoo of a rattlesnake on left arm.
Mistress: Lady Sylvia Thorne ( Elves - Wood/Genasi female) tall with skin that looks like bark, but feels smooth, she has mossy hair and amber eyes. Her gowns are satin green, revealing her petite round breasts.

The Sleeping Serpent

Drinking Inn
OWNER = Owned by a widowed Human woman Quinn Remsen and her Human grandchild Karis. When Karis was born Quinn came to Onata, as Karis was rejected by their family for being born a hermaphrodite. Karis has no hidden secrets or unusual quirks, but Quinn has a rare medical condition (Ankylosg Spontylitis = back bone so stiff cannot sit).
Before owning the tavern, Quinn sailed around the world with her spouse, she has taught Karis the ways of an entertainer. The inspiration for the tavern's name was a local legend of a rock that looks like a sleeping sea serpent. It is a tavern of good quality, that is a main meeting place for the locals - always clean and friendly, and its main draw is its amateur open-stage night, where all new-comers must step up to entertain. Karis always ends the evening in song - the range of Karis' voice is impressive.
The Bartender = a young Half-Orc Rioklo who identifies as female is quite attractive. She is often flirtatious and has fabulous outfits. Her skin is dark greyish in colour, and she has cracked tusks. She has turquoise wigs, worn in a various styles. Physically, she is profoundly chunky. She loves to sing and makes her own drinks.
The Accommodations = The rooms for rent at The Sleeping Serpent are average sized and immaculate. There are currently five rooms available for rent. The cost for a night's stay is 1 gp - plus 3 sp if wish to bathe. If the party spends the night in the tavern, the light running feet of Karis from her room to Quinn's and to the kitchen - due to Quinn's illness being quite bad that night, keeps the party from getting a good night's rest.
ENTERING = On a typical night, the clientele at The Sleeping Serpent can be described as jovial. On this occasion, there are nearly a dozen other people currently in the tavern. A couple of the patrons are consumed in a philosophical conversation, while some others are playing a game of darts. At a table almost hidden in shadow, there is a hooded figure (scam; not local; named Greeves Jones) - trying to sell a map which they claim leads to a hidden treasure.
