The Rookery
A curfew is in place in Farr City for the people of the Rookery -
Adults = 11pm to 5am
Children = 9pm to 7am
* those found outside the area during those hours are arrested and charged with Disturbing the Peace, or worse.
The Rookery is a dense collection of very poor housing of a slum area.
"They congregate in row of shanty town housing chosen for cheapness and convenience".
These slums seem like they are in a constant state of ruin, and being hastily temporarily reconstructed - yet never removed. No one living in The Rookery can afford to pull any building down to build something better.
There is the chance to encounter disease, an unpleasant or unhealthy smell including vapours, moulds, plagues, rodents, stray dogs, and literal shit. Lots of random hazards to make visiting the slum is usually to do something to do quickly. There is debauchery alongside piety.
Guard Hutt #9
All other districts have two guard buildings, except The Rookery - it has only this one in the centre. It is a solid unpainted stone building, metal double doors with the guard emblem welded onto the metal, there are stairs leading down inside and tends to flood in the heavy rains. The cells are on the East side of the building with barred high windows only (see only feet going past).The Stables
The Stables is a stone Building, built before The Rookery really existed. It houses up to 10 horses - some availble for hire. Horses sourced from The Falbette Stud in Wether.STABLEMASTER: "Tom" (Triple Wave a large Tabaxi with short haired grey-blue tuxedo with white colours on his belly, mouth hands, feet & tail.
STABLEHAND: Hazel "Hazel Nut"; a Tabaxi-Human with spikey white fur with hints of ginger and browns, has a Human face with cats' ears, nose and whiskers.
Dry Jack's Bar
Make shift TavernA lean-to attached to the stone building of "The Stables", at the far East corner by the gates.
Jackie Colgan (tall red haired Human; with dwarf ancestory, wears bold black round glasses. Strong and bold.) has built the wooden bar, stools and tables themselves. It only serves home-brewed spirits and lager, as well as Milk Thistle Wine and NutMilk Wine.
Outside, a begger smelling of pee and stale alcohol - looks grumpy and foul.
A dart board at one end and a corner stage for anyone brave enough to play, speak or tell jokes. A busy bar that opens at midday and closes when ever Jackie decides. Fits about 25 people, with more in the uncovered area outside, but squashes in more on rainy days and nights. Both Tom, the stable master Tabaxi, and Tom, a half-dwarf
Moons and Stars
Tarot, Crystal and low Magic Trinkets storeA single story building, attached to a narrow double story house. The shop has wide windows to let in lots of natural light - crystal pendants and dreamcatchers hang in the windows catching the sunlight. Inside stands a skeleton on a supportive perch, wearing one of the hooded wool ponchos with a wool belt - this is Remy.
Bridie Wheelbarrow is a mystic who runs the shop. does card readings, and lives in the house attached, she has one tenant (in the downstairs bedroom) - Sadella Foxglove (a wood Elf female with white blonde hair and olive skin). Bridie chose Sadella because of her last name, then found out about her gathering skills.
Remy is Bridie's shop assistant - looks like a normal skeleton until he moves (occasionally dances) - eyes glow with pink flickering glow. Remy keeps the shop organised and serves beverages to customers (in hope they will buy some of the teas).
While the small store is calming and well-laid out with crystals formed into jewelry or hanging within dream-catchers, trinkets, macramé wall hangings, herbal teas, scented candles and sticks of incense; in her house the upstairs is a horde of items from stock for them stock to food, trinkets she has found or brought (some low magic).
There is a small in stature black and white coloured male Tabaxi, with a large ginger patch around his left eye, named Little Flower (Little) who runs errands for Bridie.
Little Flower is a unwed father, who has a young adventurous, cheeky daughter with ginger fur with a streak of white along its chest, called Silver Bell (Silver). Bridie is not keen on Silver in the shop - Bridie's moods are unpredictable - including how much she will tolerate the small girl.
The small ginger Tabaxi is often seen lingering around the streets in front, or drawing pictures in the cover area next to the shop or in Dry Jack's Bar, when it is not open.
Bridie's Tarot Reading is the her actual magical ability to read cards - she draws the art on all her cards so she can give away a card as a spell (1 use).
In quiet moments, Bridie has taught Silver Bell to draw on an outside, covered table - promising to teach her card reading when the child is older.
