The Blushing Rose Tavern
The Blushing Rose is a Tavern in The Waterside Ward, taken over by The Fireside Fleet as their Headquarters and brothel - located in Farr City, on the Northern Isle.
BUILDING
Two floored building - first level is a stone tavern, with an added wooden second floor for The Fireside Fleet.
Inside double doors is a large fern in a woven basket [actually a Fern Hound named "Jove"]. A Half-Orc bard plays the lute (skillfully) by the hearth. The Bar is along the West wall, near the spiral stairs that lead up to the Mezzanine-type balcony of the 2nd level (whore rooms and The Fireside Fleet 'meeting' rooms).
It is a clean well-kept tavern - to the best of the owners abilities with the type of patrons frequent it since Jerry Moonie took over. [In the cellar is where the drug product takes place.]
OWNERS = Patch in the Forest (Patch) a widower Tabaxi, and his twin sons, Mist in the Morning (Mist) does Bartender, and Shadow of a Star (Shadow) is learning to cook.
They were all law-abiding citizens with no hidden secrets or notable personality quirks, until they ended up needing to borrow coin from Jerry Moonie.
Before owning the tavern, Patch trained to become a crafter of Ivory and Bone. Patch moved back close to family after his wife Blushing Rose died (boys were eleven years old). The inspiration for the tavern's name was their wife and mother. She was the first thing Patch thought of when asked for a name.
It was a single floor tavern of reasonable quality, and use to have a respectable reputation. Although since The Fireside Fleet built the second level, providing not only services for the adult clientele and mob meetings, but using the cellar to produce the drug "Moss". The Fireside Fleet is run by the same Jerry Moonie they owe a lot of coin too - a mean Half-Dwarf.
Although for the locals, it’s main draw is a petting zoo out back, open on sunny days, for the local kids (a donkey named Sweet, two feathered rabbits Cookie and Coffee, 5 chickens [Tinka, Tiny, Fluffy, Iris and Bonnie] and a rooster called Brass), 3 goats (Crunch, Munch and Boots), 2 pigs (Hefty and Jaffy), 1 peacock (Feathers) and 2 peahens (Feta and Fau), and a calf named Sugar.
THE CHEF = a weathered female dwarf named Gandani Oakbranch who is really quite ugly. She is often awfully curmudgeonly in disposition. Her skin is light, and she has dark brown hair, kept in a slicked-back style. When she laughs the whole room seems lighter. Physically, she is stocky and strong. (Not a member of The Fireside Fleet.) Hums beautifully as she cooks - training Shadow.
The Accommodations = The rooms for rent at The Blushing Rose are kind of small yet unmistakably spotless. The other four rooms are for hourly rent only – price depends on which companion is selected and available. There are currently four two beds to a bedroom available for rent overnight. The cost for a night's stay is 5sp per person.
The Clientele On a typical night, the clientele at The Blushing Rose can be described as amicable. [On this occasion, there are over a dozen other people currently in the tavern (after volcano erupted). Some of the patrons are sharing tales of past adventures — successes and failures, others are playing some kind of guessing game, and a couple others are participating in a drinking contest.]
