Quell leaves Rabbit on the ship while waiting for Wulf to come back. The crew is having a disagreement and it's getting loud. When Wulf approaches us, she calls Rabbit back. We talk about what Wulf saw on the street and are disappointed with our lack of new information. We aren't sure who the captain is or where, and aren't sure if Irrin is on the ship or not. We decide to go meet back up with Tam who has gotten us five stocky horses to take us to see Lady Sophie. Cali picks Mr Quiet, Quell picks Ms Tired, Jade is secretly a horse girl and picks Mr Grumpy, and Wulf picks Mr Not Grumpy. Tam picks Ms Too Old For This Shit. Jade has snacks for her horse and Wulf tells his horse his name. Quell pets her horse, and Cali tries to copy the way Wulf is petting his and the snacks Jade gives hers but is a bit awkward and nervous. Jade comes over to help and compares the horses to a tree that walks, and somehow it actually helps Cali tremendously. Wulf tells his horse not to listen, it is not a tree.
We take off down the path. It seems a bit abandoned, lots of prints but no other riders. A noise from the woods scares Quell's horse and she takes off, though Quell manages to hold on. The rest of our horses are also alarmed. Jade catches up to Quell and helps her slow her horse to a stop, and the rest of us all catch up. Jade suggests Quell gives her horse a snack. Tam offers to take the lead from now on so he can keep an eye out. Wulf says he knew a horse that was afraid of water. We continue on and see a cart with hay that also interests the horses but they aren't distracted like they were before. We chat about elvish and Wulf tells us why he was taught elvish and that he's better at the reading than the speaking. We learn that Lady Sophie is married to the steward, Dagur Gretteschild, but they don't really want the label so everyone pretends they aren't married and Tam can't find the word for it in elvish because schildling is too definitive with their labels.
We come up to the tower and Tam is excited to see one of the guards. At her request we introduce ourselves briefly--Wulf and Cali in schildling, Jade and Quell in traders cant. Tam gives a frantic story about why we're here and we are let into a courtyard with some horse stalls to the left side. Jade does some stretches and Cali struggles to get off their horse properly. Once we're all down and ready, we enter the Great Hall.
Lady Sophie greets us and as we're introducing ourselves, an upset townsperson interrupts, demanding a meeting. She is very hilariously stern and Cali awkwardly continues introducing theirself. We move somewhere more private, where Tam gives her the whole rundown of the lighthouse situation, where he apologizes for giving us the crystal. We fill her in a bit more and she says she's never heard of Tasha Bloodsail, but tells us about someone we suspect to be Egil's son, who came by about 20 years ago or so trying to find the shard to no avail. She says she has met Egil though. Quell asks about the man's eyes, trying to confirm if it was Egil's son or not.
Lady Sophie asks if there's anything she can do for us in return for getting Tam back to her alive. Quell mentions that we need a ship, and tells us about a ship called "The Fearless Flea" that should be arriving in port before too long. She says she can probably convince them to let us on for free. She offers us rooms for the night and a meal tonight and in the morning. She says there will be a full blown feast tonight, and we enthusiastically agree to attend. Wulf says he is used to noise because sailors are loud and he likes to dance, which is always at feasts! We thank her.
Wulf is amazed by her windows, an enormous sign of wealth here. Jade judges him a bit for it.
Cali sits in a corner on a bed and starts braiding a cord and making that shell from the beach into a necklace for Ivy, adding flair where they can, maybe tying in some other shell or rock fragments (mundane of course) that they've picked up. Wulf goes down to the sauna. Jade has a full proper bath, people running in with buckets of hot water for her and filling the tub. Quell wanders around a bit, intending to have a bath as well a bit later.
