Wulf picks up his fancy new weapon. He's there oddly early. Wulf wants to try it out and finds out that the blacksmith now has a fight with the shield painter next door, because of his patrons practicing too close to his shop.
Wulf instead hunts a seagull to see if his new toy works. Quell and Cali are skeptical, but he kills it easily. He tries to reel it in but rolls a 1, so he has to manually pull it back.
Quell wanders around town and buys some new ribbons. Cali sells their weapons. We crash in the abandoned warehouse for the next couple days until it's time to leave for the ship.
Quell is our leader by default, and Cali and Wulf flank her on the way to the ship. We are to stay in the first mate's quarters. She's mad about it.
We're all heathens who insist that the floor is fine, and the crew guy insists against it.
The 3 of us have a riveting, deep conversation about whether or not rain is bad. Quell watches the land disappear while Wulf looks for food. Cali explores the ship and creepily watches a dude steer. Wulf wrongly identifies him as the captain. He points us instead to the real captain, Eimer Ma Govhain.
Wulf shows the captain his half plucked bird and we all have a laugh. Wulf is going to help sail, and once he leaves, Cali agrees to help if the captain needs it.
Quell finds a fragment of a letter in the quarters, mentioning "our son". She also finds a red silk bandana, 3cp, and half of another letter, partially burned. She copies the 1st into her journal and puts it back, but keeps the burnt letter which has a glyph on it.
Dinner is eventually served, and we get wine because we're at the captain's table. Kiana, the first mate, is not at dinner. Some of the rest of the crew ate early so they could steer the ship through the meal.
We caht about Schild and the captain cracks jokes. Cali likes the captain, he's funny. The crew sings a folk song about hunting deer and Wulf joins in. Wulf takes a lot of shots and talks about Stirk kicking him out. Quell and Cali talk about Cali's cult upbringing.
Bjorn mutters something about "you should've let me kill that husband of hers" and the captain demands he sing a Laerig tune. In Schildling, Wulf quotes Stirk: "oh, the animal fuckers!"
Quell catches Bjorn after dinner to ask about Kiana. Apparently her son disappeared, maybe because of her husband. The crew had tried to find the son but no one had seen him since she left, on seen hadn't seen him since before that. The husband was defensive and kicked Kiana out. Bjorn then pukes at the end of this conversation.
Quell takes us back to our room and shows us the letter fragments. Cali recognizes the glyph on the burnt letter. It's Koili's {Cali's cult dad} signature. Quell asks if they can kill Koili because he's the man who took all the food from Cali and their siblings growing up. Cali is confused and conflicted. We all sit quietly until we fall asleep.
Over the travel time, Cali learns to sew boat covers. Quell chats a little with Kiana and sulks most of the time. Cali stares at Kiana a lot but doesn't say anything to her. Cali also stares at Quell a lot, because she isn't really talking to them and seems upset but Cali doesn't know how to talk about it so they just stare at her sometimes. Wulf cooks his seagull. He gives some to everybody he passes.
Quell leaves Kiana a note in the cabin before we leave. Wulf is excited to catch a different flavor bird and makes friends with most of the crew.
We arrive to the island. The lighthouse is past some woods. As we make our way, we accidentally disturb a water elemental.
