I finally finished my entry for 12 in 12! I've also been keeping up with Demongrey's March of 31 Tales. It’s been fun carrying the story along, especially since my plan is to follow the same characters through each challenge. This time, I spent extra time not just on the writing but also on the art—I created portraits for each main character. Day 29 is done, and 12 in 12 is complete. Halfway through Marchitecture
I hope everyone has been having a fantastic March! Mine has been incredibly busy, super hyper focused on Architecture as well. I even managed to get my own little Marchitecture article done, as a "participation entry"! This serves as an example and reminder that you can break the rules in order to gain just a participation badge, the rules only exist for people competing to win :D
Speaking of which, we have 4 competition entries already! From my brief skim they look to be EXCELLENT articles, and everyone should be really proud of them :D I can't wait to dive into them in April and explore these lovely spaces and places that everyone has built.

Marchitecture 2025 is live! What story does your building tell?
Over the course of March, join us in this unofficial competition about breathing new life into old buildings. So many buildings see so many people and so many stories pass through them over the ages, changing owners, and often times entirely changing programmed use. Think about what once was, why and how the owners and designers decided to renovate it, and what might be.
Tell us about a pre-existing building in your world that was renovated or remodeled in modern or current times.
Buildings are with us for our entire lives -- we spend the vast majority of our time within them. They are our protectors, our story keepers, and our homes. They provide us shelter, and they also provide us beauty. They age, they die, and sometimes, like in this specific case, they are granted another chance at living.

Life, it is what it is, but it feels good to be back! Wanted to touch on a character that was pretty important to my whole setting, but I had nothing written for over the course of a year. A fun Icey day world building and gaming
Because my world has frozen over and I was able to stay at home today, I spent time playing video games and completing three challenges. I'm working on my new year's challenge, but I'm aiming to read four articles in each categories, so wish me luck, and I'll share it before I move at the end of the month.
Then I worked on two #unofficialchallenge today. The first one is a 12 in 12 challenge. I established a tradition in one of my elven kingdoms to celebrate the end of a job or a passionate that they studied that they have accomplished all that they wanted and now are going to jump into something new. The prompt was transition,, and I wanted to show how one my longest-living sentient race how they manage with their long lives. The second unofficial challenge is called the Cozy Chillout Challenge. So as one of my challenges for myself to add food to my world. I decided to cook one of my comfort foods and then incorporate it into my world to get me started. It's a short piece, mostly just the recipe; I'll get better at it; I'm just worried about placing food in places that aren't appropriate for the geographical location.
And if anyone wants to see a really cool take on Santa and the lore and some interesting world building. The movie Red One is really good if you're of age.

November was a busy month!
Hello beautiful nerds! I hope this was a productive and happy month for all of you. For me, November passed on a flash since I got many things happening at once. My seasonal work was over and I found myself having plenty of free time. I had some rest which I needed, saw my friends who I had missed and played some games which is always a treat! As for worldbuilding, it was a month of preparation! I wasn;t engaged with Novelember (maybe next year), but I had a blast participating in four amazing Unofficial Challenges: Splash Challenge by Mochi, Mapvember 2024 by Tillerz, Fires of Creation and Longest Journey Chapter 3 by Tyrdal.
Worldember Preparation
The rest of my time went into preparing for Worldember. This will be my first time joining this challenge and the hype is real! I was eager for it anyway, but the excitement about it from everyone is infectious! I finished my homework and have a clear image in my head of what I want to write about. I will focus on regions and geographic locations so I did some warm up by revistiting some of my old articles that needed some refinment. The Splash Challenge is now over!
Last Tuesday, to celebrate my birthday and just for a bit of fun, I released a week-long unofficial challenge! The theme was water, as opposed to Tyrdal's Flashfire Challenge, where the theme was water. It closed midnight last night, and I ended up with 29 entries!! That's far more than I was expecting for a shorter challenge, and I'm so grateful for the people who took the time to write an entry, and felt inspired to do so.

Dive into your world with a #SplashChallenge !
For the next week, my unofficial Splash Challenge is running! It's a quick thing to get people in the worldbuilding mood before the real heat kicks in with WorldEmber. There's not really any open spaces for unofficial challenges to run anymore, so I thought instead of forever pushing it back, why not just release it!
So the start date for the Splash Challenge is today (my birthday!), and I am asking you to literally just write an article relating to water, in any way you like! It's very simple :) Good luck people!

End-of-October Update! +November Plans!
Hello everyone! I did a bunch of scrolling through community posts this month and it looks like people had fun with #Spooktober. It also looks like some people had a less-than-stellar month, so I'm hoping those of you who didn't have a great time will have a much better month coming up.
I had no concrete plans for October, I'd only sort of wanted to work on professions and organizations. Spooktober threw that off because my brother convinced me to write for it and of course that meant I would have to at least get the badge. So I wrote 14 articles. Here's the collection: Spooktober 2024 Collection. I also participated in Tyrdal's #unofficialchallenge Fires of Creation, which was super fun and was a great way to end the month right before I finished The CKGs today.
November plans! I'm going to participate in #NovelEmber, even if I've never done something like this before. My plan is to write a full novella as well as a specific article. I'm counting both of those for my goal. Here's the article with my plans: NovelEmber 2024.
I'm feeling pretty good about this month and I'm super excited for the upcoming month! I hope you all have a great week and I'll see you all soon!

Ups and Downs
Oh man, that was an October.
The worst thing this month was probably the death of my mother, who I hadn't been particularly close to in recent years for many reasons. She didn't die suddenly, but had been seriously ill for a very long time. Now you might be wondering why we didn't talk to each other? Well, my relationship with my mother had been strained since I was a child and I also think that she never really understood me. Very often I had the feeling that I was only there to make things more comfortable for her as a daughter (later). She also accused me of things that I would never say to my son, no matter how much he would hurt me. Do I feel guilty? I don't know. I'm a very realistic person and it was foreseeable. Well, I'll deal with it - I have to. Maybe I'll process this relationship in an article, because unconsciously I seem to have already dedicated a character to her.
Fortunately, I have found a new big family here who supports me on my way. And I am very proud that my Institutions of Learning article made it onto the shortlist of the 10 best articles in the Standard League. This was a great gift, because exactly two years ago I took part in an official WA competition for the first time and published something in the "On the shoulder of giants" challenge. I am so glad that I had the courage to publish my world and since then a lot has happened and I hope that many more great things will follow.

You can expect a family tree with the map function (I am really proud of it) and a small drawing that will hopefully ignite the first sparks for my Worldember this year.

My entry for, The Fires of Creation
I wrote this one based on one of the characters who leaves tomes of Fire magic around the world. They are often high-level spells no one has seen as he searches for the other half of his soul, that sold to a fire elemental for his power. I enjoyed writing for the challenge! I look forward to reading some of the other pieces that have been written. I am steadily working on my manuscript. I am trying to work on painting too in my studio I hope I can share it soon. #unofficialchallenge

Slight Intentional Delay
Well, after a conversation with someone who has much more patience than me, we are going to hold off on my Unofficial Challenge until after Novelember. Plus we have Tyrdal's short challenge going on! Highly recommend taking a look and maybe participating!
We are going to hold off on mine until December, I really want folks to participate in it and I want to give everyone a good shot at its competition. So that being said, now that I have a little more time, I'm redoing the badge for it. I like it a lot, but it needs some reworking. But, there is a cash prize for the top three articles 0.0 $100 USD, per top slot!

Challenge accepted/Challenge completed! Spooktober wrap up and more <3
So, Spooktober's finale is just around the corner and I am very proud to say: I made it! All 21 prompts are now available and published and the adventure through the haunted "Twilight Macabre" awaits everyone who dares enter. The endeavor of building a text adventure was a true marathon; one that was super satisfying!
What shocked me was I haven't even realized before today that I published the last article, that I have written more than 35,000 words in total for this adventure! I haven't written that much in a while and I have missed it a lot.
If you have no clue what I'm talking about, all you need to do is visit my Spooktober hub in the bottom of this post and follow the instructions. I will be thrilled to see what you think of it if you do!

What else is coming?

2. Also, don't forget to check Tyrdal's challenge of the Longest Journey. I think Chapter 2 (link on the bottom of the post again) will run for two more weeks. But this is not all from Tyrdal. I'm very curious to see what the challenge called "Flashfire" will be about!
3. I'm not sure if I will participate in Noverlember since Spooktober drained me a bit, but I will sure try to publish some short stories for my new world, called "Chronicles of blood". We shall see where this will lead me :D

Tales from Aran'sha - August 2024
Ahlan wa sahlan, my dearest friends! It's been another month and each month seems to be crazier than the one before. Today, we'll bring new stories and tales from #Aransha. Summercamp has come and gone and now..we reaped our rewards. Take a seat in the shadows, have an iced tea and lets recap august!
I did not expect the incredible outpour of love I received this month. Not only did I make it onto three shortlists ( that I know of) and was mentioned in an incredible 33 reading challenges - no, all of you had one more surprise for me in store.
Just when the award ceremony was almost over you people hit me with the "Most Improved" Award.
I kinda blanked out for few seconds when that happened. at me screen and struggled to find words to write (I still am). So: let me just say thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single one of you.
And while we are speaking of thanking people - Aran'sha hit 100 subscribers! Thats an incredible milestone that I did not expect to reach for quite a while- but you brought me from 50 subscribers to 100 in just 2 months! And all of that before Aran'sha turned one year.So again, thanks to everyone who took the time to read, like or subscribe to my tales. I appreciate every single one of you.
Whats up next? Well, I've not forgotten any of the ideas from last month. So there's that and of course Mystember. We will travel a bit more into the plains and learn about the gnoll bonespeakers, maybe do some culinary exploration and I will revamp a few categories. And finally, this is the time to get some of my TTRPG houserules on paper.

Little June Recap
Had a great time this June. I decided to take a bit slower, in preparation for Summer Camp of course, but i also decided to participate in a couple of Unofficial Challenges and i'm fairly proud of the two article i wrote.
The first Challenge i participated in this month was BasicDragon's Botanica challenge, which you can find here: And this was my entry:

In other news, i'm still working on a few continental maps, which depending on the prompts we get and the articles i decide to write, i'll probably prioritize one over the other, so readers have a visual of the geography.

Loads of Work!
Over the past few months, I've been doing a ton of work on here. I've mostly been making my own custom CSS theme and think I've gotten most of it done. There still might be a few things I've missed or some weird edge cases. I do still have to go through and make it work on mobile, especially for the sidebar thing.
I've added some helpful things like indices, custom category pages, navboxes, overview of the tagging system, About page, and a World Guide too. Some of these are still a work in progress though. I've even written up a page explaining how I made the neat little menu sidebar with CSS for anyone who's curious.
I've also written a prologue for the manuscripts, which I think sounds pretty good. You can check it out below! Just ignore the bookcover, it was some AI generated thing I fixed up a bit and slapped some garbage text onto. It was more of a proof of concept thing.

MAY 2024: Monthly update

I've had a ton of fun preparing stuff for the Food, Glorious FOOD! Unofficial Challenge. For me, the culmination came on June 1st, when I assembled all the products to make a bread bowl full of sour rye soup. Why not make it before the deadline? I was having so much fun testing new stuff and... got carried away and lost track of time. XD

I managed to find a few species of edible flowers and leaves. Even though there were too few rainy days, I started a series of articles with Foraging inspirations. Mushrooms, pt. 1 -- the lookalikes. Plans for next parts include: peculiar looks and unique biology. Stay tuned for more!
Climbing the WorldAnvil learning curve
Variables, variables, variables galore. This was my favourite this month as I uesd the Food challenge to write down some quantity-related names. Tables and Content trees were in play as well, but admittedly I didn't give them as much love.
Worldbuilding progress
A handful of new articles on food, which inspired me to go a bit further into where the food comes from, how it is processed and how it shapes the lives of people in my world.
The map and the short story have to wait. Apparently it was not their time, yet.

MAY 2024: Weekly update no. 3
Competitions and Challenges
The large portion of the experiments is now done and time for actual cooking and writing will start tomorrow. Looking forward to it, since I'll be making one of my favourite dishes, but with a medieval/ancient twist on it.
Foraging and wildlife
No good luc with the elderflower lemonade. The flowers withered super fast as I saved them for later (for the lack of time). Wood-growing mushrooms start to appear but there is yet too little rain for typically foraged species (Porcini, Chantarelle) to be found in my neighbourhood. There's news of Chicken of the Woods making its appearance around Poland, so maybe visiting a more remote deciduous wood is an idea.
When visiting my parents I collected grape leaves of 4 different varieties, having some bigger ones (more tanic and hard) and smaller (glistening, acidic and fragile). They are waiting in salted water untill I make a use of them, possibly for something similar to dolmas mentioned by ShadowPoenix. ;)
With Foraging inspirations. Mushrooms, pt. 1 -- the lookalikes I'm starting a series dedicated to #ForagingInspirations. Prepare for a fair dose of nerdy knowledge. Mushrooms are strange but also interestingly strange and can serve as a prop, right next to plants, animals and forces of nature. The article includes some real-life lookalikes, how they can be mistaken and whether the mistake will be deadly or not. I've included a short scene example at the end.

The above examples are "Type Simple", which means you get two fields: ey (which you see above) and Value (which appears as a tooltip). What gives even more flexibility is the "Type Rendered", which permits the use of BBcode, containers, etc. With containers it gets very powerful, since I basically get a segment, which can be CSS tailored in a thousand and one ways. But even with the ability to fit "aloud" boxes, tables and such, this gives quite an edge and enables one to have a big portion of information to be maintained in a single place. I have used these for content warning boxes. More on that in the next update.

MAY 2024: Weekly update no. 2
Competitions and Challenges
I'm happy to announce, that this week was very productive! The kitchen has officially been reestablished as my laboratory to experiment with flavour, shapes and texture. I particularly loved the desserts and some of them will likely appear more often in real life. This challenge started off as an experiment to add some cooking traditions to Ædeos but inspired me to look more into "I wonder how this ingredient could be transformed into something new and interesting?" The battle continues and this week will mark some recipe wrap-up in the form of drafts of articles.

I made a first run of elderflower lemonade! The taste is almost there but needs some acidity to balance the swetness. The elderflowers are in full bloom, so this week will go under the flag of flavoured syrups. The robinia flowers were good in pancake dough, but not great. It's gave them a bit of that flowery fragrance but not enough to be truly memorable. Some other recipe called for a paste made of petals and sugar, so I may try that as well.
This week I'll be visiting my parents and the grape vines I planted a couple of years ago. Young leaves can be stored in salted water and used as a wrap for any type of filling (meat and or rice is the one I stumble upon mostly). Beech leaves are getting tough, but some still have some tartness to them, so I'll get a buch as well.
And last, but not least, my foraging-inspired article no.1 is aaaalmost finished. I will be focusing on wild mushrooms and their lookalikes, what makes them similar and different and how can you include them in a story. To get you started, here are some of the stars of the upcoming article. Can you recognize some edible mushrooms? How many are edible when raw? Which one is fermented and eaten?

What I have been up to.
I have drawn, and made an ice berg...and am currently working on vegetables. XD;
I copied Mochi...and made one of them ice bergs for one of my worlds. XD;
I also finished two drawings...well....only one...really. A while ago.
I also posted 5 vegetables on the species template earlier this week. I removed them and am going to move them over to materials. I will be writing more vegetables and some fruits and berries as well....but first, I will be finishing this month's #UnofficialChallenge s. :3

This has been a long month so far
Well the Ethnicity article is coming along, 9k+ words... It's gunna get done! I swear! Either way, work is rapidly trying to kill me so I haven't had a ton of time to work on something I legitimately care about. But, I saw Tillerz Fashion challenge and Couldn't help myself. Did end up making my first full color illustration for the article though! Finally got around to making my goblins look... Gobliny? Instead of just black and white ink drawings. So there's that bit of personal progress!
The next chapter for the manuscript is almost done, well. I say almost, it's like 40% if you count the draft is halfway done with no editing. Oh well. I do plan on participating in one other unofficial challenge this month too. Something quite mouth watering!

The end of the article stated, "the sight of a colony of leafweaver bats is thought to bring good luck on any journey you are undertaking[...]" and that sparked a great deal of joy in my heart! MAY 2024: Weekly update no. 1
Competitions and Challenges
I had a long week of pondering how to tackle Food, Glorious FOOD! Unofficial Challenge to expand my worldbuilding and came up with several ideas. It sprouted with both, something sweet, and savory. Some products had to be purchased (I don't have my own source of bacon nor honey), but thankfully, the some could be foraged in the nearby forest. First tests will start this week with articles being published some next week or so.
Foraging and wildlife
Hot and cold, hot and cold. With early spring came earlier summer and the elderflowers and robinias are already blooming. Time to prepare some wild lemonade and flowers in pancake dough. Bird eye cherry is almost done blooming and I may be late for foraging flowers for oxidation and almond-like flavoured tea. Pine cones are green and tender and soon will be ready to make a pine-cone syrup. Little to no mushrooms, though... Let it RAIN!!!
I made a good progress with the article about taking inspiration from mushrooms but it's getting too big, so... I'll have to think of ways to break it down into smaller, easily consumable portions.
Climbing the WorldAnvil learning curve
Categories got some love and with that a new thing learned -- each category has a page of its own. They can be customized via a drag&drop design tab. The default is Table of contents | Articles (blocks) | Maps/Timelines but unneeded fields can be dropped altogether. There are 5 custom content fields + the usual ones:
Still playing with it to logically navigate the readers and make browsing through the world much easier. But since for that I'll need index Tags, the changes are not implemented yet, and probably won't until a week or two (I fear that even more, but we'll see how it plays out).
Worldbuilding progress
No progress in this field, though the preparations are set up and aligned with the Food, Glorious FOOD! Unofficial Challenge.

Still here...
Just one month has gone by, but so many things have changed. I got a new job, which means less time and mental capacity for writing and worldbuilding. Mental health has been going up and down like crazy, but I'm managing. I've been doodling a lot this month too, which is nice.
You ever had that feeling that you really, really want to create something but can't bring yourself to do it? That's where I'm at right now, and it sucks. I'm also starting to get more and more aware of my finite time on this earth, which sucks too.
Existential dread aside, I have something cooking for Tillerz's #FashionMayhem2024 #UnofficialChallenge, but it's kind of ambitious so I'm not even sure if I can get it finished before the deadline. Some things never change ^^

Aaand I'm back with a portion of May news and peaks into this month's creative stuff.
Competitions and Challenges
Definitely taking part in Food, Glorious FOOD! Unofficial Challenge by moonflower-writing. Foraging wild plants gave me some ideas on how to cook something quirky and tasty. Fingers crossed I will be able to find something wild. If not, I'll just grab something from the market. A wild idea would be to chain several prompts together to make something delish. We'll see, we'll see.

Despite a fairly dry spring, there was enough rain for mushrooms to appear, so spring/summer mushroom foraging is likely to be on my list of "MUST DO" for the upcoming weeks.
An article or two about using plants and their toxic lookalikes for spicing up a story is under way!
Climbing the WorldAnvil learning curve
May will be a good time to put Content Trees, Tags and Variables to good use. The plan is to focus more on Variables and prepare some standardized content, especially for the geographical regions. I have a plan for Generators as well but that's lower on the priority list.
Worldbuilding progress
- The map is on its way and should be ready in one form or another.
- Setting ground rules for the Savenian language. I probably won't have enough information to start building up the words but the general idea should be there.
- The scene drafts for a short story are ready. Some editing, rearranging and ready to write.

Closing in on the end for #ChooseRomance2024!
You've still got a whopping 5 days left if you'd like to submit an entry to the Adventures in Romance #UnofficialChallenge ! I've had an opportunity to read most of the entries so far and it's been an amazing journey. :D On May 1st, I look forward to diving in and giving 3-5 of the entries an in-depth set of feedback, so get yours in soon!
So far, there's been 12 amazing articles--12 worlds whose authors have added romantic tales and customs and each one proves that there are SO many ways to make this happen...just in this set alone we've got everything from prose to incorporating a fictional app to composing a beautiful ballad!

A short story from a yet-unexplored land!
In this month's spirit of adventure (and short story-writing), I've released a story for subscribers to read!
However, I can't go 100% public with the story because I'm waiting to see whether it get accepted for a magazine submission. For the time being, I've made it available to subscribers only, **but** anyone can subscribe to my world for free. You should have the option to subscribe if you click through to the story, or you can find the subscribe button on my world's homepage.

In personal news, I am in the thick of it for my own architecture right now -- the end of the semester is fast approaching and I am almost through the hardest semester in my entire Masters. Two-ish weeks to go!

Who won Riddle Me This...?
Hello, dearest audience! I am sad to say that the month of March is over, but before I disappear we do have one matter to attend to.
Sidenote: Unfortunately a little late into the month of March I thought perhaps a month was not enough time to craft a puzzle. No matter, next March or sometime next year I will return and I might extend the challenge for a month.
Now, onto the winners. I had five wonderful contestants enter and all of them were unique and clever. I had quite a lot of fun with them.
But the third place goes to the ever coolest BASIC DRAGON with Find Alema! . A fantastically fun choose-your-own-adventure mystery!
