Adventure MAPril 2025

This unofficial community challenge created by Tillerz combines two popular events: Adventure April and MAPril, but it is mostly about the map(s). The goal is to create a unique project that merges storytelling and cartography. Participants are tasked with either:

• Designing a map that tells an adventure story
• Writing an adventure narrative that incorporates a map as a crucial element

Remember that Chronicles and Timelines combine a timeline of events with maps!
Participating in this challenge is fun, helps to create one more thing for your world, and you get some visibility. And you will probably connect with new people and find new tools in World Anvil that you never used before.
Some map ideas: treasure map, city map, world map, map of the grid (cyberpunk), map of the sewers of a city, floorplan of a building, ley line map, tree/map of a production line of goods/resources or of the languages or species in your world, etc.

How To Participate

• Draw a map, write an article (any category) including a map, make a map using the WA map feature, a chronicle with a map or a timeline with a map background.
• If your entry is not an article, link your creation in an article so people can find and like it if they found joy in your creation.
• Post a comment with your article below this challenge description so people can find it.
• If you do posts/journal entries, use the tags #AdvMAPril2025, #UnofficialChallenge.
