Valonia Empire is the independent superpower located at the South Estisia. Forming by the unification of the Kingdom of Valonia and the Empire of Kritus after the War of the Sacked, the empire becomes innovatively known from the mighty Gunner Legion, with firearms as primary weapons unlike the rest of the world with swords and spears, resulting in a vast territory the empire has covered - from the West Coast to the partial East.
Structure
After the Valonian's occupation of Kritus, the power structure had been changed from unitary state to federation. The empire consists of provinces, a admisnistrative territories made of former countries. Each countries they invaded and occupied has a chance to remain its former government, though heavily reduced in autonomous. The main factors is that they are yet under the rules of Valonian governors.
Just like the old days, the government operate on the province that once the entire kingdom, with the Emperor of Valonia, descanding from the Rarmon Dynasty, hold an absolute power, who have control over the Royal Institutes.

History
Before Valus
See Kingdom of Valonia. The Valonian had been settling near the Dirwen River since 400 BVE. It's formed by Val the Great, who led the banished people from the Empire of Kritus and declared himself the king. Under the 16 kings, the kingdom faced several rise and fall involving the Empire; The Kritus Crisis, the domination of the west coast, the economic golden age, the Irgian-Valone Pact, and the Siege of Valone, where the kingdom lost and the bloodline extincted. Eventually, the threat came to an end when Valonian uprosed and crushed down the empire - under the lead of Valus I, the descendants of the Val, the fallen heir. The Valonian also discovered the mysterious crystal named Catastropium, which contributed to their military advancement nobody had ever seen.
The Scientific Enhancement
Even before the new era, Royal Research Academy was focusing on Catastropium to advance themselves in many particular ways, such as improving the quality of life. In 2 VE, the revolutionary crystal-powered engine was invented. The very first car they ever produced, which was faster and stronger than horses, changed the way of transportation. Timed bombs have been used inside the mine to extract more materials with less labor.
The special firearms had been further developed to the point they've never seen before. New formation changed the primary weapon from the traditional gladius to the powerful Crystal Musket. The Anriv-Vinor War (4 VE - 6 VE) was recognized as the first war to use automobile even thoguh it was clunky.
In 25 VE, Valus I, the emperor and the savior, passed away. His rightful heir, Rondius Rarmon, succeeded the throne and became the Rondius V. The vow of his father would carry on to him to continue the Era of Unity.
Clashed against the Irgia Republic
In the same year, the ionship of Irgia Republic started to crumble. The great thief led to diplomatic insult, resulting in decreasing iron exchanged - without irons the mighty army might not be existed.
Rondius solved it by conquering the iron-focused Kingdom of Ohun in 32 VE; tonnes of irons and the high-end refinary had been acquired for imperial investment, not only giving them an opportunity to further improvement in the military, but became less diplomacy.
Finally, In 50 VE, the empire declared war against the republic. It's overcomplicated yet aggressive strategy. No matter the fate of the war is, the grand generational story of the crystal empire. is continuing.

The grand roads network allow Valonians to trade and transport faster on land. Horses and Catas Ferronuses are the medium of transportation, though the latter are more expensive and keep upgrading. They also develop Partus Publicus, the postal system that allow personal delivery with even faster travelling, provided by Postmans, prefererd vehicles, and available outposts scatted across the network.
For the water, they doen't have significent vehicles, but have a special law known as The Waterway Policy, which allow the collection of tolls from all sizeable ships trying to pass bridges in all the riverside cities.
