During the regency, King Ikanos I had to do something to prevent incidents like this by reforming their own system. He end the senate power and gave them some democratic tastes.
First, the adviser now have to be chosen by election selecting the right people for the kingdom. Second, more security around the palace and nobody, except the dynasty and foreign guest, can access into it.
