Royal Military Institute
Knowledge is power, but without people left to teach it becomes useless. And so comes another emperor-funding institute to protect the people of the Valonia Empire.
Royal Military Institute or R.M.I. is the Valonian military service. Its main job is to recuit and train the Gunner Legion, a highly trained infantryman. It also has its own development department heavily on military stuff, as well as the arsenal of guns and powders.
Structure
It is rather a military organization but the defense as a whole. The organization has several subdivisions related to the state protection for those legionnaires to work. There are the Royal Enforcement, to keep peace inside the city; the Royal Army, to keep peace outside the city; Royal Navy, to keep the peace of the river upon the sea.
The head of the organization is the elected Catasturion called Prima Catasturion, who is supervised by the Adviser of Defense, who descanded from the military family of the six royal families. The emperor can technically be the head of the institute but in reality, they're a commander of the whole army.
Assets
This institute operates inside the Rondius Fort and the surrounding in the Old Valone district, Valone nearby the grand palace. All the military orders from the senate will be delivered in one of the building known as the House of Legion, the military council full of Catasturion. It alse has a largest arsenal with all the equipment produced and maintained. For research and development, they corporate with another emperor-funded organization, Royal Research Academy, which is responsible for the development and the quality assistance of some type of gears' blueprints, in which they must not infiltrate.
History
It was formed years after the establishment of Valone. Formed by Rondus the Brave, it was initiated as a local police dealing with early settlers. However, as more people migrating into city, including ex-soldiers and some ex-slaves who could fight, they realized they had to form a proper army.
Nice! :) I like the cover art especially.
