Catas Ferronus
The Iron Horse
Catas Ferronus is a latest type of automobiles used by the Valonia Empire. It is a continuity of Catas Mobile which has been existed since around 2 - 4 VE while Catas Ferronus has been developed and deployed in 40 VE. The different between them is the more iron componants than the previous iteration, making them stronger and durable. Still, taking very long time to finish the entire assembling. It was the collaboration with various scholars from two nations, between those of Ohuna and Valonian.
During peacetime, it has been used occacionally in the postal system called Partus Publicus, carrying items and people between distinct places. It took shorter time than ordinary horses but also having limited fuels. It was used on dedicated goal and destination with no any interruption.
Propulsion
It has 4 wooden wheels with simple iron differential gearbox that allows them to drive through more tough terrain without any drawbacks. It used Crystal Engine, the Catastropium powder based combustion engine, to drive such gearbox, both of which has been lubricated with wax.
The most precious part is the iron shaft, being smithed and lethed into the strong and smooth texture that can reduce rust. It has also been coated in wax as the additional protection.
Armor and defense
The design dedicated the effort of both nations. The smooth craving of the floras combined with the rough industrious lines provide not only a good looking vehicle but also the union between both ethnicities. It has a pladge somewhere in part written in the lost language, "Good Luck"
Origin
The production of iron had decreased in 25 VE due to iron embargo, but came back on top in 32 VE after finding new supplies that called the Kingdom of Ohun. After almost decade of gaining trust the empire seize not only the iron but also the people expert in sarced metallurgy. Many tonnes of metals made by the locals were high-quality and so becoming an ideal material for the next evolution of the automation.
I love that this is a new iteration of an existing vehicle. It's always fun when technology develops. <3
