Concept

The idea of this twisted version of America is to combine the ideas of Neo Libs, and Conservatives Corporatists to explore their theoretical vision of the world and how it'll really play out. It formed from various ideological ideas put forwards over the years by various major US politicians. It should be noted that this America is a dystopia that plays pretend at being Democratic and Progressive.
Companies, Governments and institutions have successfully co-opted just about every progressive cause and twisted all of it to their own ends to justify their own tyranny. For Constitutionalists and more nationalistic Americans, you see an America that truly pays no heed to the Constitution. Only using it when it benefits them, the idea of America no longer being a nation of the people but Big interests.
It's an America that both acknowledges its racial past while ignoring its current Reality. Punishing those who try to point out the effective reinstatement of slavery in all but name. It runs a truly corporatist System with Government and business as one and the same and running an economy that only benefits the top 1%. It's a country so mired in Excess and hedonism that most are apathetic or accepting of the world's grime. Becoming a part of it rather than trying to stop it.
Another grim element of Neonphage America is a total return to form, manifest destiny spreading across all of North America, and the annexation of Central America. The constant push south against Southern American nations. The return to form on the treatment of natives and various minorities except the one difference being the subtle presence of white insurgents trying to undo it, aided by democratized Brits.

Government

The US Government has undergone a radical change but any suggestion it has is a near seditious claim to the government. During the 2020's America was the Federal Republic but after multiple crises and economic collapse. The Government quietly reorganized itself into a Unitarian Dictatorship with the dress of a Federal Republic.
The constitution still exists but it's more of a glorified piece of paper than any sort of meaningful legal document. Used and twisted only to justify the Government's often questionable actions. The Electoral System is a mess, ever since the accused of vote rigging in 2020, the problem has become something of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The idea of a "Fortified" Democracy surfaced where the Government, through the cooperation of both parties quietly rigged elections in favour of candidates who suit the Government's agenda. There so virtually no Election security at all except only to keep the people they want in charge. The Democrats are the ruling party however one could barely recognize them from the 2020s.
The Party moulding the country in this weird Foe Progressive, Neo-Democratic mould. The country still holds rigged elections for various positions but there has not been a single presidential election since 2030 CE.

The Presidency

There was a time, back in the 1700s when the world was shocked when America's first president, George Washington peacefully handed away his power to the winning candidate. That time has long, long since passed. As Today the Presidency has become little more than a fancily named role for the Dictator. Henry House has been the reigning Supreme President since the 2030s after the Green Party won an election with President Elizabeth Gallows.
Shortly after her assassination, Henry House, her opponent took power and announced an indefinite state of emergency. He is now the central leader of the US, holding supreme power over all 13 commonwealths as if he was an Emperor delegating power to his provinces rather than a Democratic representative working with other representatives.

Congress

Congress has decayed rapidly since 2020s becoming more about a tool for the government than being the representative of the people. Chock full of corporate lobbyists, opportunists and radical ideologues. There is little hope for change both in the Senate and House as those who vote for them are largely apathetic or bought out themselves.
Corruption has literally never been worse as multiple special interests scuffle over issues that have nothing to do with the common American.

Ideology

Neo Democracy, that's the new name for the Ideology of America. It's a Softly named variant of Fascism where all exist within and under the state. The Private sector is hardly private and the rights of every citizen is far from guaranteed. It is an ideology of American Exceptionalism, Hyper Nationalism, Foe Progressivism or more well known as 'Wokism' broadly referring to a set of seemingly progressive views, Ideas and desires but is really a front for some other ideologies. In this case, Neo Democracy.
In this America, it is Democratic to crush political opponents and Anti-Democratic to question or challenge such an activity. This Ideology is proper Orwellian, using new speak and critical theory to construct an inherently nonsensical and contradictory worldview that its victims will defend to the death. It is an Ideology that for instance simultaneously recognizes the struggle of minorities while Oppressing them and quietly enslaving many of them to meet market demands.
It is an Ideology that will speak badly about Companies while also empowering them and enabling corporatist extortion of the populace. This Ideology has its roots in both Neo-Liberalism and Neo-Conservatism functioning as an evil combination of both of them.
Despite the attempts to Re-brand and divert attention, Neo democracy is an effectively thinly failed version of Authoritarian Democracy.

Neo Democracy

Court System:

The Entire court system exists to defend the Government and enable its actions rather than really protecting the interests of the people. You are not and will never be guaranteed your day in court. The system can simultaneously excuse and defend the actions of Companies while also sentencing an innocent black man to life in prison for stealing bread.
Despite the obvious corruption, Small Private Lawyers have been given rise, many working in small firms to defend their clients and navigate the complex, inconsistent and often oppressive legal system. Depending on old laws from the US Republic that the current US must maintain to keep up the façade of democracy. These Rogue firms are constantly targeted and pressured.
They are often completely outnumbered and face a biased court and Judge who can easily be bought out by special Interests.

State Governments:

These still exist in the form of Commonwealth Governorships who operate their own Senates and manage the commonwealths. These Governors most of the time appointed but sometimes elections can be held and are often subject to ludicrous amounts of Fraud and rigging to ensure the right people win. All the Commonwealth Governors are directly subservient to the President and must do everything he says or else.
This is because of the Texas Secession where Texas attempted to secede from the US and was brutally crushed. It was made near impossible for a state government to ever deify the Federal Government ever again.

Republicans

Ideology: Corportatism

The Republican Party is host to a violent hyper-conservative audience that it cultivates in the name of corporate interests. Run their party like a business and regularly takes bribes to act as controlled opposition against the Democrats. Not all who support this party are rich or hyper-conservative, many are disenfranchised people, the majority white who are left behind by the system.
Many are ignorant of the party's Corporatist edge or its very violent and radical followers. Using a very well-designed system of propaganda that uses political reality to sell a toxic outlook on the world. To turn Americans against each other to gain higher profit margins.

Neo Democrats

Ideology: Neo Democracy

In the 2020s, the Democrats was a party adopting new progressive ideas, selling promises to a better America. Giving the image of diversity and compassion. Since the events of 2020, the party has been steadily overtaken by a violent and radical wing of Neo-Liberals. Redefining the party into the mould of Neo Democracy. Creating a party that on the surface is progressive but really is a front for a softly named fascist ideology.
Using Nationalist talking points and ideas to "Defend the Nation", justifying its penal system and oppressive policies through desperate circumstances. It's not a party any 2020 Progressive could recognize as anything then an existential threat to America and its soul.

Economy

The US Economy in the 2000s -2020s was often sold as being broken to try and sell the government agenda but this economy actually is so fundamentally broken it may be impossible to solve it through peaceful means. The Economy crashed during and after the 3rd world war, with various disease pandemics rocking it further. In general, the USD faced a high rate of inflation of around 160% -240% for decades.
Fixed only by the use of Cryptocurrency, gold and other valuables. The primary fix was the total and complete loss of economic freedom. Companies were mandated to fix their prices to certain ranges with State businesses providing easily accessible resources. The Use of Penal (Slave) labour also offset the drastic demands and doubled production.
As a result, what would be a multi-billion purchase for a simple loaf of bread turns back into the 4.87$ purchase it was before the collapse. This extreme integration of business and government rapidly transformed the US from a Free market to a command/planned economy. To avoid the problems of such an economy, Companies were maintained under the jurisdiction of the government.
This is something many corporatist execs supported as it gave them unlimited access and influence within the government. Some companies like Coca-Cola wanted to preserve their freedom as Private Companies but eventually fell under the government's long reach and control.
It's an Economic system where Cronyism, Corruption, lies and false promises are not glitches but features. With the US Federal Reserve directly controlling the currency, these companies never have to worry about fading away so long as they continue providing for the Government's needs. This means that the General civilian's wealth and living condition has barely improved since the 2020s.

Jobs

The average citizen can find a job, but Upward mobility is extremely limited. A Citizen can only attain higher office either by Corporate or Governmental Sponsorship. Meaning that there is very tight control over who runs things and how they do so. In such a strict system, it's no surprise that entertainment is so important. The Government maintains an extremely high number of Job opportunities with the illusion of Upward mobility.
These jobs all pay a 20$ minimum wage to each of their workers, the lack of Economic freedom allows this as there is very little in the way of real competition between the companies because all of them technically work for the same boss, the government. This 20$ wage is used to allow higher taxes, more purchases from the general populace and placate workers who think they're getting the raw end of the deal.

Starting Businesses

Upon reaching the Middle Class via Sponsorship, you will have more income and wealth than much of the nation and some use this as an opportunity to start up an official business. There are several "Black Biz's" which are small businesses that have zero protection, and registration and can be subjected to fatally high tax rates if they are unlucky or anger the wrong person.
Starting up a business requires a little money and lots of vetting and registration but once done, you operate within the confines of the Laws and rules given to you. This allows a limited but necessary part of their corporatist system as it still depends on Capitalism to run. These official Businesses are still vulnerable to victimization so many pay protection fees to bigger companies in return for the defence of their assets. Profiting off hyper predatory economic policy that is in operation in the US.

Imports / Exports

Because of the Hostile nature of the world and the state of International relations. The US Trades within itself, with the commonwealths economically acting like separate countries. Importing and exporting to each other based on what they need. This is all helped along by Computer systems that help keep track of the market and ensure that no one state becomes too independent while also remaining profitable for the nation.
This also means that very little in the way of foreign imports find their way to America. Instead, other cultures produce their goods here and sell it to other Americans, meaning that everything in the US is made by Americans for Americans. At the expense of economic cooperation with the world's surviving nations.

Black Markets

As explained a little, the Black Market has come to be known as just a market without protections from larger companies. The goods in the Black Market may or may not be better or worse than Officially sold goods. There is also very little oversight and is a prime source of extortion, corruption and abuse. The Local Black Biz Strip Club can import Sex slaves for their working girls, use chips and tech to enslave them and it'll all be perfectly legal...even though it is not. It is just that Law enforcement in the US can be spotty and unreliable.

Pricing

Prices are very stagnant, this is intentional. Prices are kept at a manageable pace to keep the populace passive even while profiting off them. An average lower-class citizen will never doubt buying a soda can or a movie but they will never be able to rise above their station life is just comfortable enough for them to not try. Because of Price fixing, massive shortages will be devastating and potentially completely fatal to this fragile system.
It is a legacy of the Collapse and the total crash of global markets and Currencies.

Nationalised or Privatized?

Is Neo America America a Privatized Economy or Nationalised One? Both. While yes it is corporations that provide power and services. They do that with a, not-too-subtle threat to their existence in the case of disobedience. This is similar to the Economy of CCP China from the 1970s - 2020s. In that system, Private entities exist but their existence is by the authoritarian grave of their state rather than the Private Market Presence and Health.
In a way you could say America is still Privatized but the Government still has ultimate veto power. Corporations are always trying to find ways to gain more independence and the Government is always looking for ways to keep them under control.

It is regarded as an 'Old Corp' and one of the rowdiest. Having attempted to reclaim its independence and its own money and assets from the government multiple times.
Failing it is totally subjected to the will of the US Government and has very little say in what it says and does. All of its assets and money are completely vulnerable to the whims of the President's House.

Another House Hold name, founded in 1962 the company was a major name in the Fast food industry. Today it still exists and is even larger than it was in the 2020s, being the largest in the Commonwealth of California and having a fairly large presence in New York City. It has a low amount of independence and is very much subjected to the US Government with 25% of all of its profits going to the government.
Still, Taco Bell has long ejected any voices of descent and is a Happy Vassal and tributary to the US Federal Government.

Maxwell owns many puppet companies these days, having bought out a large number of them, becoming a huge monopoly within the Countries. Controlling former big names like Best Buy, Walmart, Kroggers and much more. While Maintaining their names, most of their profits go to Maxwell and all of their funds to run their stores come from Maxwell.
Maxwell is able to sidestep the government on certain things thanks to its vital role and stranglehold on certain industries like weapons manufacturing and technological development.

Song is one of Maxwell's biggest contenders even going so far as to produce their own News stations that speak in both English and Chinese, running a successful media Empire that allows them to shape US Society for maximum Profit Margins.

They sell AIs capable of Reality hacking to Companies and the military but also have a side business to the Jezebell's selling lesser versions of the same goods. They also sell tons of goods to Commercial Paranormal investigators who try to hunt for ghosts, earning them quite a bit of money in the process.

Culture

America's culture has in some ways radically changed and in others, radically reverted back to form. Racism, Bigotry, prejudice and collectivism is back in force and is stronger than ever before. But there was no great conservative revival or empowerment of the church. 'Wokism' the idea of Foe Progressive ideology, and advocates have become the staple of post world war 3 America.
Many espouse old and ancient progressive talking points from 2020's America but few actually live up to their actions with many groups like the Black Panthers, Eco Movements, Worker Unions and otherwise being actively suppressed and in some cases, openly slaughtered by the government to the cheering of the populace as groups like these are often depicted as Terrorists and violent revolutionaries.
It is not uncommon to hear venomous sentences like "Aren't you supposed to be drunk or high or something?" or "He's definitely ghetto, His kind come from ghettos. Can never trust 'em."
When it comes to Companies and the Government, most people have become either apathetic, blind or complicit in the Government's activities and the society around them. It is also a culture of Tokenism, using token figures to justify just about anything. The 80% Incarnation rate of Black folks isn't Neo slavery, they just have a high crime rate. It's not an extortionate displacement of the poor, it's the rescue of a failing neighbourhood, restoring its hard-working spirit. Companies are often subject to a completely unearned sense of trust and reliability because it's those companies that produce the goods that keep millions distracted from the world around them, with fancy VR games, Drugs, Food and other distractions.
Unlike the Famous writings of Cyberpunk 2020/2077 or Bladerunner, the average citizen honestly doesn't know and many don't care to know the reality of the companies they're paying. Many in the rich or middle classes have a very white picket fence view of everything living in the beautiful parts of their cities living in these utopian-like environments with Sci-fi technologies and vast, ornate and opulent designs, distracting many from the Rot and filth it's built upon. Even the original monuments across many cities and locations have been built over.
Such as the White House, now with a huge brutalist, White building filled with abstract shapes, lights and glass. Completely burying the original white house underneath it. Almost symbolic of the parasitic status quo that is strangling America.
Finally, a deep sense of hedonism and Hyper sexualization has overtaken society, unlike the core tenets of the Sexual Liberation of women. This is no Sexual Liberation but a sexual Co-opt. Companies mass market sex and objectify everyone to make a profit. While Sexual Violence and crimes is still technically illegal. Society has grown very weak to it, possessing few if any arguments against it. Any attempts to point this out often leave the reasonable person subject to being called "SJW" "Busy Body" and a "Nancy" all as dismissals. The idea of Ethical and Safe sex is referred to as almost bigoted and dated, is to be considered a total defeat for Ethics and Sexual Liberation. Now it's all an empty husk to be used to make money with.
There is just this general sense of lack of boundaries with most not committing crimes in case they're caught and most seeing some crimes as only being bad if they're caught, such as robbery, Grand theft auto and Assault. All are justified by the need for survival, isolating many and incentivizing subtle but illegal activities.

Subculture

Despite the bleak outlook of Current American Society, a steadily growing Subculture known as "Violet Echo" is a mix of like-minded Progressives and Conservatives who want to revert the horrific changes done to the world and to America. This is where real Progressivism survives and the original Patriotic spirit of Individualism, Self-determination, Sense of self and community and of love of Country as well as a willingness to criticize it when it is in the long still presses on.
Many in this Underground Subculture are those disadvantaged by the system or are concerned over the reckless corruption and corporatization of society and the general tyrannical lawlessness of the Government. These 'Violets' are a mix of ideologies all agreeing on matters of Democracy, Equality, Education, Economy and the constitution.
They all share a sceptical view of the government and the police but can be divided over the matters of gun rights, policing methods, society, strategy and tactics as well as world views. Often preventing them from truly unifying into an organized political force.
This growing Violet subculture is a reformation of old-world ideologies, trying to create a united front, to unify the Majority and the Marginalized together as Americans, Together as a people and to come together to solve America's many serious problems. Still, they are a minority compared to the rest of America and are in the need of an Inspirational figure, to unite them into an organized political force. To partake in organized political and direct action, someone who can truly bridge the gap between the splintered factions in American society and hopefully bring an era of change at long last.

Media

The Media has become totally enslaved by various different ideologies and factions with the US Government having the most control over the Mainstream internet and pushing its agenda over millions within the country. The Media is also very confined to the United States and only the united states. This is because of the closed-off and isolated nature of the globe and how almost everyone is hostile to each other. Many websites like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and many more no longer exist as separate companies but instead, all exist under a Mega Corp named Silverstein Inc. which is a proxy of the US government. While this has resulted in the general Stabilization of all the platforms, any sense of true freedom has been lost and everything on those platforms has to be approved by the government. This has resulted in the 'Black Net' a version of the Deep web that has independent regulations and rule enforcement, a sort of Free Internet where Freedom of Opinion and expression is paramount. This is known by the US Government and rather than shut it down, instead try to sell the image that it's a far-right echo chamber based on the fact some creators on Black Net sites can be far-right.
Both the Mainstream and Black Net are radical extremes of each other, whereas the Mainstream is sanitized and heavily regulated, the Black Net is an extremely blunt and moderately regulated place with clear pipelines to the Deep Web that has become a far darker place with virtually no regulation. If you want something? The Internet has it, sometimes it's all a matter of knowing where to look.
Legacy media such as TV Stations has become totally nationalized, with many News Stations being completely subservient to the Government and having virtually zero Press freedom. This means that the Government controls both left and Right discourse on TV, making sure it never truly threatens the Status Quo.

Politics

The Right Vs Left dynamic is alive and well, to the politically engaged it has become a highly toxic echo centre of two radical extremes that do not really exist in the real world. Both are heavily influenced by media and normally get their opinions from the news and very little else unless it agrees with their predisposed opinions. However, despite this, there is a disorganized but growing Violet movement. A General movement of those who agree that divisive politics are a distraction from the very real oppression that has manifested around the Us. This is most expressed by movements like the Minutemen, Black Panthers, Eden and The Remember Poland movement.
Forming a general consensus of Liberty, Rights and expression but are still prone to disagreements over Economics, Policy and other points of contention, still plagued by the right Vs Left movements with Minutemen general being more right-leaning and the Black Panthers being more left. That being said they are not as hostile as the rest of the political discourse. Just in need of a unifying figure to truly unite them for a Violet cause. Politics as a result of the two radical extremes are rarely talked about in the open, out of fear of shunning and resentment or just fear of the heated discourse that usually results. Meaning most end up being apathetic over developments and generally allow abuses of power or negative actions just to get away from it all.
It's just a total exercise of Tribalism, achieving very little progress and change in the world.

Sexuality and LGBTQ+ Matters

In a lot of ways, the entire movement and momentum behind these causes have completely backfired and have become the tools of powerful factions to twist and manipulate for their own causes. Generally speaking, acceptance has spread across most parts of society but not in the way that 2020s progressives wanted, instead it's acceptance at the expense of any kind of Standard or sensibility.
You are free to love but Sexism and Objectification have never been more prevalent and widespread than it is in the 2070s. There is also 'Political' Sexuality, meaning people identifying as LGBT+ as more of a fad or pandering / Queer baiting way that is very widely accepted as any sort of criticism or doubt is treated as a carnal sin. Even in cases where a 2020s progressive would argue that calling Sexual abuse involving minors is not a sexuality.
A 2070's Wokist (Foe Progressive) would argue it is and that the 2020's Progressive is a Far-right bigot. It's the fulfilment of the wildest conspiracies of 2020's conservatives creating a truly nightmarish dynamic that makes it hard for Genuinely progressive forces to work against the Hyper Sexualization of everyone and everything. Sexism has spread a lot because of toxic notions spread by the out-of-control porn industry that operates with zero concepts of ethics and restraint. For instance, it is not uncommon for a Homosexual man to discriminate against a woman and then call her a bigot and then she would be ousted as a bigot on social media instead of the man who discriminated against her in the first place. This is because of a hyper obsession over allyship, the average person wanting to be perceived as a good person instead of actually being one.
This has basically crippled all progress in this part of American Culture, twisted into a method of oppression that still targets society's most vulnerable while also claiming to be their protector. Because it's easier to live a lie than face the ugly truth.
For those who already disapproved of Acceptance, it has resulted in a complete and total radicalization. While small, this Hyper violent and radical part of society is a genuinely dangerous threat that is in a great risk of spreading faster than its current and slow rate. Despite the real danger and evil in these reactionary and radical movements. They're just dismissed as Trolls, dated relics and idiots, despite actual lynchings and beatings.

Marketing and Entertainment

Due to the total Carte Blanche on sexualization, and it's the ability to sell products. Sex is everywhere and is a huge part of both marketing and entertainment. A lot of people critique 2020's media about this but it has developed into an out-of-control beast in the 2070s. There is nudity everywhere with very little mind paid to minors or perhaps Asexuals who'd like to not see such things.
To the Prude, you're virtually out of luck if you are not rich, as such things have nowhere as much prevalence in 'higher society' instead they like to mask it, sometimes very thinly. Hedonism is very much celebrated in America, a selfish almost self-defeating culture of hedonistic pursuit overtaking most things.

Trends & Fashion

The United States has had a turbulent set of decades and it shows in fashion trends, with expressionism on a clear decline over the decades has resulted in the fading of colours. There are a few dominant styles over the decades that express different things. Ordinary clothing is still very much in use and has no signs of fading but even the everyday stuff has a clear decline in the use of colour.

Utopian

Simplistic, often filled with whites and blocks of clean simplistic colours. A favoured style for the rich and is often applied to their servants and android slaves. It's always very clean and sanitized with the use of few logos and differences. It's a very conformist style that steers clear of any sense of individualism and expression. It began in media, depicted in Dystopian fiction.
Eventually becoming a real-world trend during the late 2030s and early 2040s.

Silver Futurism

Can be simplistic or complex in design, uses even less colour and instead favours lots of blacks, greys sometimes instances of white with the main colour being red, to contrast against the colourless scheme of the style. It's also very conformist and is very widely used by the Rich and middle class. Another favoured part of the style is the use of Silver, especially on Cyberware.
It began to rise in the 2050s and has seen a sharp increase ever since, with many national leaders preferring to dress in this style and forcing their underlings to use Utopian.

Grime Futurism

Very similar to Silver, this style is widely used by the lower middle class to the poor and homeless. It features faded colours and feels very washed out and worn out. It's a very pragmatic style that doesn't try o be daring or fashionable, it's just pragmatic. In a way, it's still conformist to current-day trends. On the streets of New York, it's easy to get lost in the sea of colourless masses, amongst the bright Neon lights of the city streets.

Retroism

A style that stuck in the past, revering the classical and the colourful. Retroism is the general Umbrella for all fashion trends pre-2030, noticeably taking clear inspiration from the 2020s. It's a daring and bold style that advocates for its users to put expression over everything. If you want to wear a mullet, a pink Tootoo and a Multicam Kevlar while going out to the shops? Do it and be proud.
It is ultimately a style that's nostalgic and speaks to a time of greater freedom or at least the perception of such. Retroism's most popular variant is the Rocker and Biker substyles, playing into the punk counterculture ideal of Retroism. Bikers and Rockers have always been fringe and rebellious with conformist variants of themselves being discouraged and outright despised.
It's also broadly just more colourful than any other style, thanks to its celebration of individualism and expressionism. Retroism only began becoming popular in urbanized areas in the 2070s.

Naturism

A style that is about nature, wearing clothes that are eco-friendly with lots of natural colours and sometimes high use of pastels. Like Retroism, Naturism is about a time when the world was cleaner, more natural, and greener. Floral patterns, straw hats, and cotton fabrics are all very big staples of the style. It became popular in the 2060s as many began nostalgically for vast forests and natural environments that have become so rare.

Evangelicalism

Clean-cut, conformist and very often references the 50s, it's a type of retroism that disregards the idea of expressionism and instead expresses the idea of returning America to a conservative god-fearing country. Where the gender expressions of Man and Woman are defined to that of the expectations of the church. Where one is beautiful before god, then to man and then to no one else.
It's remained extremely popular in conservative circles since the late 2020s.

Social Trends

On top of Hyper sexualization, it is very common for people to enjoy a wide variety of drugs that is more sustainable thanks to the invention of Fixer, a substitute drug that can placate the needs of others with very little harm. As well as the advancement in synthetics and cybernetics, allowing one to replace the broken parts of themselves.
Much like in the 1920s-1940s, smoking has become a huge presence in people's lives with chewing Tabaco making a huge return. Cocaine and various other drugs have once again re-entered mainstream use, so much so, a 7-year-old child can buy and regularly smoke Tabaco and partake in drugs once illegal for the child to attain.
Parenting has also become very unpopular including childbirth, rather than having a child normally. A man or Woman's seed is injected into a fertile egg and the child is grown in a vat. This has also caused the rise of Replicants, which are childless people who are born for certain tasks or to fill the needs of society. The labour shortage in hospitals? Generate a whole generation of doctors and nurses and other staff to fill those needs.
This has resulted in the escalation of Child care that'll quite literally raise children for you, meaning you can spend more time doing what you want how you want. Or if you're poorer, you more time working paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet. There is also way less stigma around sex, you can casually talk about the night you just had in deep detail and your friends will probably talk normally about it too.
Segregation has also made a big return, people of various ethnicities have various incentives to 'stick with their class' which given the racial breakdown of the classes in society, can be considered code for sticking with your kind. Rather than saying "No coloured allowed" it'd be "No Poor" or "No Anti Democrats". You can also be expected to meet a standard of dress or have no service.
People are also hyper-afraid of contagions, so much so that Sick people run of risk of being lynched if they're not careful about what they're doing or where they are going. Given the healthcare situation, this ends up as lynchings for poor people. This is because of a hyperextension of the reasonable idea of taking care of yourself and others during a pandemic into hysteria and paranoia over the most basic of diseases. Brought on more by biological plagues and hazards that often originate from WW3 than the Covid 19 Pandemic.
Most Americans in the cities are also very ignorant of their own even modern history and culture, existing in a near vacuum of hedonism, electronic music and neon lights. Many Americans don't even know what WW3 is much less that there have been 3 world wars. Even if you played some of the most iconically American bands like ACDC to modern-day American, there is a high chance they'll think it's a new band.
Just in general the average urban American is hyper selfish, Hyper egoistical and often hyper-defensive and will not do anything unless it affects them directly with a minority while numbering n the millions is still a minority that cares.

Crime

Given the explanation of the Court System, it is easy to deduce that Crime is a massive problem in the US that is frequently sidestepped and ignored in some circumstances enjoyed on screens like some kind of action flick. Due to the harshly selfish nature of the country, crime is frequently done for reasons more than just a lack of resources and needs fulfilled.
Greed is a huge element of it, as a society that promotes an overvalue of personal pleasure and desire. It is common for many criminals and gangs to commit horrific and heartless hacks just because they can or because it's fun. The frankly spotty enforcement of law in a lot of cities is exemplified by the drastic escalation of the presence of firearms and other weapons despite the total dissolution of the 2nd Amendment and the universal ban on firearms.
In reality, crime is more about what damages the rich and powerful if a crazed gunman guns down a bunch of lower-class individuals then it's simply a media story used as justification for the authoritarian tactics of the government. If someone important is hurt or killed, then it is something that'll be punished by the Hyper Militarized police.

Policing

In the 2020s, BLM held a series of Successful protests that was associated with opportunistic rioting and pillaging during the night. Causing policing to make some changes however after the events of January 6 and multiple other events. The Positive change done by BLM was completely undone and the perspective of their actions retroactively revisioned to be inherently violent and radical.
Characterizing BLM to be the same sort of Domestic terrorists as the Far right protesters at Jan 6. Allowing Governments to dramatically up the militarization of police and completely 'reform' the policing system. Getting rid of the idea of warrants and without the guarantee of your day in court, oppression, violence and brutality became ever more present than before.
The problems that led to the 2020's riots only got worse but people's ability to work against it decreased. This has now led to the rise of Private Police, funded by companies and community police, unofficial law enforcement like the New Black Panthers or the Minutemen which in their own rights are rebellious groups.
The Police are even allowed to kill US Citizens with little scrutiny, transforming the police into a terrifying force of law enforcement for the government. Brutes the Government can depend on to violently protect their assets instead of the American people.
There is also a significant corruption problem, as the rich can frequently bribe police officers to the extent to ignore their crimes or transgressions. The Richer you are, the far more you can get away with. As a rich person, you can also technically order the police to do certain things even if unlawful. It's extremely prevalent and potent within the policing system.

Surveillance

Privacy is a joke, and unless you're a hacker or at least tech-savvy, you're subject to an extremely invasive and persistent surveillance system that will track every little detail of your life. This is used as a means to try and control you and find potentially problematic citizens and discover the best ways of dealing with them. It is very hard to avoid detection but there are groups who are elite and professional hackers, capable of helping groups evade detection and control the information the government can gather on you, by falsifying it.

Gangs/Organized Crime

Gangs, gangs, gangs are a very, very potent presence in the life of most citizens living outside of privileged areas. Organized crime is also very potent with some big names not only surviving in the 2070s but thriving like never before. Crime is another tool for the rich and powerful to become so or to further reinforce their wealth.
The Commission






The top dog of the crime world, the Commission is what ensures the crime world evades too much interference from the government and ensures that the rich and powerful always get their cut so crime never loses its funding. It has a long list of rules and its own hierarchy with its own enforcement to ensure its laws and rules are followed and when broken? Punished severely.
Everyone in the crime world is subservient to the commission and those who are not, end up dead and forgotten.
The Mafia






The many Mafia families have united into The Mafia, to protect their mutual interests against other major crime organizations that have been imported from other countries or domestically grown. The Mafia are still a family and has an ancient honour code that all must abide by. They all have to listen to the Council of Dons that manage the different families and keeps the whole thing more or less unified with few instances of infighting.
They have also taken up their iconic 1920s-1940s look, as the current crime situation in the US allows them to dress up once again and restore the image of the mafia.
Yakuza






Another import from japan, since the collapse of the world. The Yakuza has spread themselves to the united states. Famed for its Brutal methods and its high love for violence and strength. The Yakuza is one of the biggest competitors against the Mafia and frequently fights with them and guns for their assets. It is also the most feared organization for its total lack of restraint.
A Citizen fears the Mafia but respects them. A Citizen however has nightmares of the Yakuza and lives in terror of them. Yakuza owns many ventures and does know how to keep itself alive and well within America while also never losing its traditions and its ways.
Triad






An Equally feared but less potent group in the crime world, having most of it's influences on the western seaboard with few assets in the east. The Triad are more than just a criminal organization but a proper resistance group against Imperialist China. This is mostly because of the totalitarian nature of the country that only got worse with the PRC's collapse rather than better.
The Triad are very proud of their Chinese heritage and make sure whoever they are dealing with respects them too, or else.
The Cartels






The South and Central American Cartels work together to form a potent criminal presence in the crime world and focus a lot on the trade of drugs and other illicit goods within the US. They're the major supplier of goods for most of the criminal organizations and are basically neutral with most of their fighting aimed at smaller-timed organizations who want to get a cut of the cartel's wealth.
The Jezebels






A criminal syndicate that rose up in the 2040s involves a series of criminals of seemingly supernatural origin. Often categorized as mutants by the Government. The Jezebells is a lower-end organization with a seemingly lower amount of influence than the others but in actuality has a high amount of infiltration and subversion of just about all of them.
Trading big in Information and other sources. They also happen to be very good at assassin but it is hardly a priority service. Most of the time the Jezebells are insanely self-serving and make large amounts of money from their Night clubs, strip clubs and other types of clubs.

Military

The US Military has not lost its edge but in fact, only ever gained. Becoming more and more the force that its reputation suggests it is. Operating in a rigid autocratic mould. It has gained some of the most powerful weapons on earth. All of its branches have a serious upgrade with competent officers and NCOs being promoted and maintained by a competent system with high pay and high incentives for loyalty.
For its maximum improvement in capability and military power, the US military has also completely abandoned any notion of Humanity within its self. Every soldier is designated with a number instead of a name with a simplified but effective ranking system across all the different branches. Each is supplied with a well-organized and efficiently set-up logistics system to supply all of their operations.
Fanatically loyal to Neo Democracy, most if not all soldiers will live, fight and die for the country. Indoctrinated heavily with ideology and purpose. Most join to get opportunities in life and in the process essentially programmed to be the perfect model citizens that will fulfil all of the government's needs. Only one branch maintains any level of free thinking and that is the US Airforce, the least funded and cared about part of the military with the Marines not far behind.
Sadly the pure power and stature of the other armed forces make any sort of rebellion or insubordination extremely difficult or outright impossible. It should also be noted that all branches of the military maintain their own naval, air and land presence and depending on the force mainly specialize in one of those. This is to increase the operational capacity of the US military.

The United States Imperial Guard

The total reorganization of the National Guard, reach commonwealth maintains a large Imperial Guard that serves the role of the marines. Fashioning the latest tech, Cyberware, Weapons and vehicles. The Imperial Guard is a very common sight to see on home soil and is the political enforcer of the Federal Government as the Federal Government is what provides all of their funding, enabling them to do their jobs.
Most Rebels, Raiders and otherwise will often fight with the Imperial Guard and are subject to their total lack of mercy and restraint. Facing off against rigid zealots who will fight and die for America.

The United States Navy Guard

The reorganized US Coast guard, defended America's Naval borders. Ensuring that the coasts and the adjacent seas remain clear of hostiles. They're about as fanatically loyal as the Imperial Guard and fashion the latest in naval tech with funding stemming from the Federal Government. They are never employed for foreign wars as their job is purely defending the homeland and its many occupied commonwealths.

The United States Army

The US Army is the main military force of the military and handles foreign conflicts, almost always deployed broadly to contest the movements and operations of America's many enemies. Indoctrinated heavily, though more apolitical in function as they are to handle foreign elements. The Army is very well funded and is the strongest land army the US has.

The United States Navy

The Foreign Navy for the US, project the US's dominance in foreign seas and contests the force of those like The Great Russian Empire, Nationalist China and their allies and subjects. They are comparable to the Navy Guard but are far more specked into offence than defence, unlike their domestic counterparts. The Navy has also ejected the marines from itself, creating the Navy Marines.
A richer, more compliant version of the US Marines that follow orders to a T.

The United States Marines

The slogan "Marines Make do" has literally never been more true, getting almost no funding or even support from other US Forces aside from the air force. The marines are normally stuck in ancient campaigns, like in the Middle East, In Europe and other old deployments. The Marines are mainly based in Hawaii and Panama with some recruitment offices in the cities to keep up their numbers.
They are using outdated or spotty levels of tech to conduct their operations. Working under old oaths and orders to try and survive and try to restore the spirit of America but face extreme opposition and near-crippling scrutiny at times. This Branch is living on borrowed time and desperate dreams.

The United States Air Force

A defunct organization, operationally replaced by the Space Force, first organized in 2019. Much like the Marines, this ancient and iconic branch of the military is fantastically unfunded and under-supported. Though they have been more successful in securing new tech and resources from Official businesses like Maxwell and others from Black Biz's like the black market.
The Air Force still uses an arsenal of iconic but upgraded variants of US Aircraft such as the F-35, the F-22, The A-10, the F-16 and the F-14. Using old schematics to build new variants of technology and trading weapons and supplies with the Marines. The Airforce has built new Air bases and maintaining a large number of Aircraft carriers but lacks little in terms of orbital craft or even spacecraft of any form.
They are still loyal to the old ways of America and don't believe in the idea of Neo Democracy. However, their capability of actually contesting the US's Air superiority against the Space force for now is wholly inadequate. Instead, they just work on staying alive and operating and defending the constitution as best they can.

The United States Space Force

The Space branch of the US military and functionally its new air force operates high degree of Orbital and space-worth craft such as SF-10 Space Jet or SR-72 as well as a large fleet of UAVs and other advanced forms of Air and Spacecraft. The Space force are the most dominating air force in the world with sophisticated use of orbital weapons and Satellite weaponry with the most advanced and heavily encrypted IFF system in the world.

United States Special Forces

Navy Seals

A very popular special force, still popularized in media and is celebrated as heroes. Their actions on the field are being propagandized as Heroes who love and will defend America. When the reality is that the Navy seals have become the slaves of the Government and will do anything they're ordered to. No matter how ruthless or heartless it is.
They have a mission and will do it, regardless of personal harm or potential harm to their comrades.

Delta Force

The well-hidden and classified special forces who conduct special Operations in the name of the Government. Highly loyal and dedicated to the nation. Unquestionably obedient to their orders and will not rest until all of the Government's enemies are dead. Fashioning the latest equipment and technology with some vehicle assets and high use of drones and IFF.

Black Berets

After many Green Berets defected and joined Rebel causes, the Green Berets were reorganized into a combat unit designed to counteract and slaughter insurgent forces rather than working with them or training them up. Their tech isn't as updated combat-wise but has superior detection capabilities, able to find even the most well-hidden insurgents and wipe them out.

Shadow Ops

A rogue division of the US Special forces made up of disillusioned SF operatives working with SAS and Mi:7 to bring down the US Government. Fighting their former comrades, famed for their excellent Guerilla tactics, efficient methods and clean kills. Shadow Ops works alone most of the time and believes themselves the last true SF unit for America.

United States Netwatch

An entire branch of the military that focuses on the digital battlefield, counteracting electronic warfare, cyberattacks and even attempts to invade US Simulation Programs and kill US soldiers through the Simulation. Netwatch also handles the internet security of the entirety of the United States, working with federal agencies to bring Cyber criminals down and control hacking.
Including handling reality hacking and advanced rogue AIs as well as those who've gone insane with a high number of cybernetic and synthetic enhancements in their bodies.

Tech Level

The US Military broadly speaking is far more advanced than anything that can be found in the 2020s, even when operating outdated models they tend to be further along. All having access to a better IFF system, NVGs, Cybernetic enhancements, Mechs, and Drone technology in some form. Many employ the use of later generations of VR technology.
They are training their soldiers through the use of Hyper realistic Simulations that even have the option of punishing failure with death. Much of the military has state-of-the-art Cyberware and Synthetic enhancements that make improving the human condition easier. using extra pieces of technology like the exoskeletons to further augment Servicemen's and Servicewomen's abilities.
Next-level vehicles and weapons are in use such as SMRT guns, Guns that allow the user to ping enemy targets and have the bullets try to hit them around cover. Hover capability in most branches of the Military has been given to their vehicles with A.I managed APS systems for Tanks and APCs.
Most aircraft are 6th-8th generation and are far superior to any aircraft found during the 2070s, capable of pulling off air manoeuvres many consider currently impossible.
Another big development in the US is the use of psychic abilities and other magical abilities through the use of an Elixir sold by the Fel Corporation that when ingested allows the use of science-bending powers. It is very high-level stuff and can be very expensive. Reality hacking has also become large, often achieved by advanced AI, Hackers can alter reality in a limited way with some of the best Hackers or Netrunners being capable of changing larger things around them, such as materializing hard light platforms to scale tall obstacles. Flying, hacking people or otherwise.
It's easy to liken these abilities to the Matrix and awakening in the simulation and indeed it can very much feel like that and if the hacker in question is god enough, be like that.
Neural Link has also become a widespread and advanced implant even after the total Nationalization of Elon Musk's Companies, most technology, most implants require Neural link to function. One of the biggest changes this implant has brought is the ability to transfer information into your head, creating what is called ghost knowledge.
To learn Kung Fu one merely needs to have it uploaded to them and then perform it in real life to manifest that knowledge and further perfect their form. This also has allowed a vast swathe of new viruses that can infect people and do things such as cause mental Illness, Madness known as digital psychosis and much, much more.
It is best to never skimp on prices for your hardware and Software, as the worse can really happen to you if you're not careful. Those without implants are totally immune to this but also tend to be a lot poorer for it.

Agencies and Institutions

The United States has a lot of Agencies and Institutions for various tasks and just about all of them have been put under the government completely. These agencies and Institutions make perform various critical tasks from Delivery service, Taxes, and Financial management. Special Investigations and Surveillance.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations

The FBI has for a long time been an internal institution for investigating crimes inside the US and they still do this but it has also grown a lot since the 2020s. The FBI is now also the primary organization in charge of counteracting domestic terrorism. They work with the Imperial Guard to brutally crush organizations they believe to be a terror threat to the US and its interests.
They also work closely with Netwatch, providing them with vital intelligence for them to find cybercriminals. The FBI's SWAT forces have also become a highly militarized threat with high-level military training and procedure, with very little interest in saving lives but instead crushing the enemy.

Central Intelligence Agency

The CIA is a very large organization that handles foreign affairs, fighting cold wars with the Imperialistic powers of Europe, Asia and the Pacific or the Rival and Far more Democratic powers of South America. The CIA's biggest change is there inclusion of Law Enforcement, though specifically in the other Commonwealths like Canada or Panama or perhaps Mexico.
They are still mostly focused on Intelligence acquisition, Subterfuge and political intrigue. They are responsible for various civil wars and large periods of unrest in other nations in the attempt of Regime changes to favour US Interests.

National Security Agency

The largest agency in the US, sharing a shared role of Domestic and Foreign Enforcement, is hugely focused on surveillance and Control. A long time ago, Edward Snow Den revealed the NSA's invasive surveillance system but in the 2070s? It has gotten much, much worse. The NSA is how the US Government maintains such strict and totalitarian control over its populace.
The NSA also has its own Private military that helps fulfil its Counter Terrorism activities and very often aids the FBI and Netwatch in their Operations. The NSA is also in charge of handling America's propaganda machine. Using their huge Database and invasive surveillance to make sure that the Government's Propaganda has the maximum effect on desired demographics.
They also control various companies and are in control of the surveillance of all companies, with larger more independent companies steering free of this thanks to their huge monetary contributions to the Agency.

The United States Netwatch

A Dedicated Agency that is specifically focused on Cyber Security and matters. They also handle the security and control of all AI using AI to better control the internet as well as making various attempts to gain control of the black Net, fighting with various Hacker groups that are inspired or derivative of Anonymous. The Netwatch are a vital agency that keeps the US dominant in the Ongoing cyber war between hostile nations.
Keeping the Government tight control over people's minds as strong as possible.

The Abnormal Investigation Bureau

A little-known Agency, known mainly by Mutants, people with Supernatural or psychic abilities or people infected with vampirism or lycanthropy that's become sustainably more potent after WW3. Most of it is publicly explained away by Postwar mutations from the nuclear holocaust or other biological hazards. The AIB is who tries to control the sudden increase of anomalies and anomalous behaviour.
Working hard to ensure things like Vampires never threaten the US and its control, hunting them down and killing them with a cold scientific edge to them. The AIB also contains anomalies and is responsible for writing counter-narratives and explanations of Anomalous events and beings. They have an iconic symbol of Raven's, with a lot of Raven iconography and are famous for their men-in-black appearance most of the time.

Demographics

In the 2020s the US had a high population but a declining White demographic, the decline stopped entirely and instead after WW3, there has been a massive increase in America's population. The Eager importation of unsustainable numbers of people has led to an extreme impoverishment of entire demographics of people in the use.
Rather than reducing the Majority privilege in the US, it has actually only gotten worse in extremely insidious ways. For instance, nothing stops a black man from getting rich via sponsorship but his ability to get into the right positions and even be employed is extremely limited by his address. If he lives in a poor place like Whiteplains New York or Newark New York.
Which have much higher numbers of minorities, then he will be passed over compared to another Black man from Brooklyn who is far rare there and more often than not, then a White man or an Asian man would be selected just by pure chance. This means that one can claim that white privilege or if you prefer majority privilege does not exist or has been defeated without actually changing anything.
Even Minorities in positions of power defend this, as they do not want to risk their lives, livelihoods, families and positions.

Population

The population is a hard thing to define with America's demographics in the 2070s. The US Census only covers those who live in the cities or in corporate/government zones in the wastelands. Meaning there is an extremely high degree of approximation in the population and then you add the added complication that everyone outside of the cities and zones is legally defined as not US Citizens but instead Wastelanders.
Most who do the counts, segregate both portions of the population and then combine them for an approximate average but as is obvious. it's very easy to get the number wrong by such a degree that calling it an approximation is a bit of a stretch.
Race is also fairly complicated due to the high birthrates between all of the races meaning that the numbers are nearly constantly incorrect some of the consistencies between all the counts is that the White Demographic floats around 60% whereas on the 1st of April 2020, 60.1% meaning that the population estimates of the future that were taken at the time are hugely incorrect but this is mostly because of WW3 and the nature of the world in current times.
Or another explanation is the US Consensus has bad coverage over inmates meaning that it's possible that the white demographic is floating around the high 40s to low 50's% but no one knows due to no one really knowing just how many people are imprisoned.
Age is also another consideration, America much like in the 2000's China has a huge imbalance in favour of younger demographics however unlike CCP china, have employed absolutely no birth control at all meaning that this massive population is going to continue. However, America's ability to supply for them all will be insufficient but this changes little as America only ever really worries about the Middle Class and higher class anyway.
Both classes have a steady growth that the system can sustain for possibly forever. It does pose a problem for the US Government however, as the benefits of society continually cover less and less people, the threat of Revolution continues to rise. To answer this, more oppressive policies and systems have been put in place to keep this all up.
All to avoid the Demographics collapse as observed in CCP China in the 2020s-2030s that sent the country into a massive national crisis.

Geography & Environment

The US during the 2020s was facing a climate crisis and mass pollution, in the 2070s this is still true but does not affect major cities like it once did and thus basically gets ignored. Everything not essential to Human life is not worthy of consideration and argument otherwise is liable to get you suspected as an Eco Terrorist. The truth is that much like the rest of the world, America is faring no better in terms of environment or the habitability of their land.
Living in the cities it is easy to think that nature is fine and that the air is clean and that the world is on track to healing but going outside the city walls and you get a much different experience. Biohazards, Mutants and Nuclear radiation are very common in American waste. As Depicted in the culture classic Fallout series, the wastelanders live in often isolated struggling communities that face a multitude of environmental hazards.
Just the air alone can be extremely hazardous with extremely harmful chemicals and waste is routinely dumped into the wastes. Making the already often unclean air basically unbreathable. The Flora and Fauna have been devastated and some mutated beyond recognizability. Man-eating plants, Killer reptiles, Horrific mutants. Deadly biohazards and the like are extremely common.

Guaranteed to make them depend wholly on the Government and Companies for food, losing what little independence they have.

Extinction

The US has had a 120% increase in Fauna variety but almost all of that can be attributed to the hyper hostile, invasive bio hazards, mutants and otherwise, that now exist. One of the few improvements that has been seen is a total reduction of carbon emissions which is very frequently touted as the Government's greatest success. This is pure because of the advancements in Nuclear fusion and other sustainable energy alternatives. However, the reduction in Carbon emissions is almost entirely undone by the ludicrous amounts of pollution.
Urbanization has also been reduced due to the new design philosophies of major cities preferring massive high-density living areas that can house far more both under ground, in the skies on the ocean and on the ground. Waste cities still have the problem but urbanization is no longer as much of a problem as it once was this is completely offset by the reality that most of the species and habitats that urbanization was threatening have either died or horribly mutated.
There are also other small improvements but they mean very little in the overall health of the US's environment due to other factors.

Education

Education has undergone a series of reforms and very few would consider it good. Segregation has returned to schools with mixed-race schools taking a huge decline in number throughout the decades since the 2020s. In the 2020s there was a massive issue with college debt and the accessibility of educational resources based on class and race. This has only gotten worse, with college debts being used as a direct means of control, in order to control who succeeds and why.
The education system has almost no standardization outside of what is referred to as "Patriotic" education and "The Basics". This free reign allows the colleges to teach according to their personal and corporate agendas. With Patriotic education teaching the Neo-Democratic Narratives and historical revisions. The Winning school gets huge grants and rewards, as well as corporate opportunities with the winning students basically being set up for life. Some very powerful Higher class individuals have been the winners of these games and very few of them are brave enough to criticize an obviously evil funding system.

Class & Race Disadvantages

In this savage and cutthroat competitive environment, the poorer schools, often filled to the brim with minorities have next to no resources, funding, support or ability to properly teach their students. Most schools survive loan to loan from extortionate companies with virtually no contact with any government figure. The Success rate of these schools is obviously depressingly low with 0.8% of the students going on to be successful.
Most end up ghettoized and trapped in a ghetto culture that is celebrated and enforced by Corporate media corps for more money and the continuation of profits from this demographic. In the scholarship games, it's worse, these schools end up with countless teams that drop out, die out or a mix of both. All of it to the laughter and enjoyment of the masses.

Critical Theory Reborn

A new Critical theory has developed, based on the ideas of the Violet movement. It's an intellectual force that argues that the Enlightenment has fallen and that the world has 'returned to form'. It deconstructs racial and political issues using new language based on progressive ideas. The idea is to deconstruct the mechanisms of oppression within all areas of society and reconstruct society and all of its faces from the ground up.
A Neo-Critical Theorist can argue for Abortion both scientifically and progressively. They are able to use the language of their enemies against them. The problem with Critical Theory is its clearly left-leaning origins, making it difficult to spread it to more right-leaning allies as New Critical Theory is in fact still loaded with left-wing ideas and narratives. Sadly Neo America is aware of this and using the precedent of the Critical race theory bans back in the 2020s, has banned all critical theories with lethal enforcement being used to suppress it. Healthcare

In the 2020s, healthcare was in crisis and prices were constantly rising with the efficiency of healthcare downgrading. Healthcare also had a demographic coverage problem, mainly that only rich White people gained its advantages. In the 2070s this problem on the paper has improved but in reality has gotten far worse. Because of a dramatic reduction of regulations during WW3, Hospitals were empowered and incentivized to prioritize the rich, powerful, corporate and servicemen/servicewomen.
This means the poor have next to no medical coverage and your address ultimately decides whether or not a hospital will even let you in much less treat you. The Big Pharma issue has also only gotten worse with prescription regulations for the poor decaying and eroding almost completely. Meaning your prescription for Insulin could come loaded with dozens of other drugs that could harm you down the line but seemingly solve your issue in the short term.
Cyberware is another health issue, as industry-grade and quality augments and replacements are only available at least to the middle class. The Poor are unable to buy these Augs are must buy from 'Cyberdocs' who are largely uncertified experts that don't always have the best quality stuff which can lead to Digital Madness, which is a digitally uploaded mental disorder, a form of cyber attack that makes the victim present augmented behaviour, sometimes even violent behaviour.
For the poor, the best option they have is The Triages, which is nomad Hospitals that have to be on the run to escape Law enforcement that'd arrest members, acquire their equipment and fine the owners. As it is illegal to distribute healthcare outside of the hospitals. This can lead to reoccurring conflict between Triage Militias and Law enforcement that very often leads to civilian casualties.
As always this hits minorities the hardest who can be subjected to brutal and lethal abuse for simply trying to attain medical care they are otherwise denied too by the hospitals. The legal trajectory for this seems to be worsening as Companies push for further bans on cyberware and stricter and far more lethal enforcement against the Triages with very little opposition being allowed to speak against this.
Often thought to be a work of fiction, hospitals have had to deal with acquiring patients in areas the police won't go to. Private Military contractors have made contracts with hospitals to guard Medical officials during Medivac's and have killed various people who got too close or too curious. Some triage raids are arranged by these PMCs and often impose means such as chemical and biological warfare to kill off the triages and their patients to protect the hospital's interests.

This can be a problem as some are very often forced to do this because of a crackdown on triages and lack of medical coverage from proper hospitals.

Finally, something progressives can be happy about, Religion in politics has been completely undone, removed, and never to return. Except for the explicit details, this is actually more complicated and in reality, the first statement is likely completely and utterly untrue and is just another government slogan to get your support and vote. Most churches have become decaying, moss-filled ruins with many forgetting the meaning of their symbols. In reality, religious extremism has never been greater with Christian extremism mostly getting a pass if it doesn't affect corporate and government interests. In reality, religion in America has become cut between two religions and that is Radical Evangelism and Radical Islam.
The moderate schools of both exist in an unorganized form and their exact potency and power of such are largely unknown with many other religious minorities being actively suppressed and hunted down to the last man, woman and child. This is due to Neo Democracy's Extremist radical atheist ideology that rather instead of pursuing science and reason. Takes a dogmatic, violent and fascist route in trying to violently genocide any and all religions.
This resulted in various genocides like the Jewish 'Pacification' in 2043, the Purge of Satanists in 2045, the Catholic Massacre of 2046 and many other events that led to the near and total annihilation of those religions within the urban areas. The organized versions of those religions survive Underground in the American Wastes.

Radical Evangelism

In the 2020s, The majority of White Evangelism sided with President Winters and saw him as a quasi-saint-like figure. Many came to believe in various political pastors and they became louder as Religious extermination became a staple of the Neo-Democratic Regime. The Church survived thanks to securing enough money to disband as a church and register as a company.
While subject to taxes and lacking various privileges, the church gets to continue to 'market' its faith and receive political protection from the Republican party. So despite the radical genocidal regime in control of the government, privileged Pastors continue to preach freely as 'Corporate Spokesmen'. This also has led to a rise in Christian products being marketed to continue identifying as a company.
The Government largely allows this so long as it doesn't cross their interests with the plan of one day exterminating evangelism once they're done with Islam. As a religion, it's become Hyper conservative and hateful of others. Practising consistently escalating cult-like behaviour and despite this has increasing numbers every single day.
There is also a racial element, that has returned to the church though it fails to see how. it treats other races like a 'disease' that must be cured and tended to by the church by adopting the identity of the church first and your race second. Pushed forwards as 'colour-blindness' as a thinly veiled tactic of assimilation. For the Radical Evangelist, nothing can be outside the church. They will fight and die, kill anybody at all to make America a Christian Nation again.
Lynchings are also incredibly common with nighttime beatings, sundown zones, segregation and white supremacy taking hold. The KKK have reached Numbers, popularity and power that surpass any prior period, even during their heights in the 60s. Regular firefights occur in poor zones between White nationalist militia, The Minutemen and Black panthers, attempting to push back the march of far-right white supremacy.
Moderate Christians are also burned, hanged, crucified, tortured and dismembered and disembowelled even for the simple act of seeming to 'worldly' or being too accepting of Black Americans. Anyone who questions the word of god is to be destroyed according to the doctrines of spiritual warfare.

Radical Islam

Since 2001, Islam has seen a massive uptick in violence, discrimination and prejudice. Despite this, a peaceful school of thought still stayed dominant within the religion. However, in the 2030's, Neo-Democratic forces began violently cracking down on mosques and putting Muslims in camps to be silently killed off. This became radicalizing as violent and extremist schools of thought rapidly took over the faith.

Some of the Quran's passages are twisted so fantastically to justify atrocities as well as massive sections being outright ignored, burned and deemed as western propaganda. This has resulted in hundreds of underground mosques being burned, pillaged and sacked because they were deemed heretical and western by church authorities.
With the moderate and progressive ideals of the American old faith being pushed to the fringes and exterminated. Radical Islamists began a huge series of terror attacks, bombings, Kidnappings, indoctrinations, attempted genocides, book burnings and much more. Rather than just the typical patriarchal dynamic, a system designed to force men to protect the women of the family and the women of the family to benefit the family.
It has become total and utter chattel slavery for women, where they have zero rights and if they show any skin without the permission of the man, can be brutally whipped, beaten, strangled, murdered, humiliated and put on a stake. This constant radicalization is perpetual by worsening conditions, continual genocidal prosecution, continual atrocities and brutal military action taken against them with literally no way to escape this radical church, causing total stagnation and regression into total Religious fascism.
Any shred of Islam and what it once was, any shred of peaceful doctrine or ideals has been destroyed. The Quran literally misses entire chapters with entirely new ones written and taught as Original gospel in its stead. All of this is done in the name of survival, and All Moral standards are abandoned.

Radical Atheism

The Neo-Democratic school of thought for Atheism is that Religion is an existential threat to humanity that must be wiped out, sterilized and erased from history. The Radical Atheist tends be extremely nationalistic and supports the government in the violent genocide of any religion at all. Starting out with hatred against Jews and Muslims has extended to all religions.
Radical thought leaders believe that Humanity is a plague that must be modified and changed to progress the species into the stars as a purely rational and logical collective. Any form of insubordination, instinct or expressionism must be expunged from the human experience. Any suggestion that this in itself is irrational is worthy of public beheadings, executions, chemical sterilization and slavery.
It's become in a manner of speaking a State church, that treats scientific literature as gospel with 'Palaces of Rationalism' acting as basic places of Worship. As AI, Technology and science become dogmatic idols of worship. New Science is being viewed with suspicion and extreme and unfair scrutiny. Radical members replaced every bit of their bodies to abandon any notion of what humanity was to become transhuman and thus superior to any other human.
All humans must assimilate or one day be phased out or destroyed. Any Rogue A.I must be exterminated or brought to obey the doctrines of Radical atheism. Any machine desiring to become human or free-thinking must be annihilated. Humanity will be updated by any means necessary.

The Cult of Lilith

This results in an extremely toxic dynamic of ever-growing extremism and essentially no attempts for peace or compromise. Moderates on all sides are targeted, marginalized, exterminated oppressed and imprisoned. It's a system of extremes that only ever reinforces other extremes to the detriment of the common person. Individuality, freedom and equality as well as hope becoming ever more distant from faint concepts and words rather than reality.
