Battle of Mount Rushmore

Government Forces come into contact with a Powerful Raider Gang calling itself the Patriots who occupied Mount Rushmore and had been using it to attack Government Reclamation efforts and Wastelanders alike.
  General Arthur Wicken was appointed to manage the battle, operating in tandem with the US Imperial Guard and United States Army Forces to siege the fortified Monument. The Battle Lasted for a month or so.
  It included 2 major attacks and a series of raids which saw both sides taking heavy losses. This is because the Patriot Raiders were comprised of several Ex-Military Members using stolen weapons and gear as well as vehicles to contest the Government.
  Eventually, Arthur had enough of the losses and made the call to tear down the monument. Artillery barragement began on the 18th of November, 2036 and by nightfall, huge chunks of the heads were missing but indeed the Enemy had been weakened, allowing Forces to clean out the Area.
  To ensure that the area would not be used again, the Army poured several thousand tons of nuclear waste into the area and piled the barrels high inside, to ensure absolute strategic dominance in the area. Most Americans would not know any of this happened for several more decades, however.
