Ultranationalist China

"Communism, Fascism, Neo Democracy...Same Jack boot on our faces." - Jintan Yusheng

  Theme:

Government

The Government is confusing, Despite being Kuomintang, there is clear reference left of the CCP. For Instance, instead of restoring some kind of Dynasty or instating some openly nationalist government, they converted the Infrastructure of the CCP and even have more Nationalist and Imperialist members of the CCP still serving the current Imperial Government.     Their Leader instead is a Supreme Chairman who rules for life and upon death, the family member of the Chairman inherits the position.

Ideology

This was an emergency government and that is potent in that much of the CCP's Imperial interests not only continued in Ultranationalist China but actually expanded in scope and the Country's ability and desire to work with others took a massive decline. After Nuclear devastation, the most recent Chairman, Zhao Xiaojian held a coup de tat against the previous government and has adopted an openly Han Chinese supremacist ideology.   In this strain of Fascism, the individual is not truly a consideration, ever. The only consideration there is is the Nation and this is couched in Racist, Nationalist Talking points that blames Americans and Jews for the world's blights. Clearly an ideology of Paranoia and bigotry but it is the result of Reckless foreign policy and the consequence of Western Governments ravaging the country and Great Russia abusing it further in the wake of the Fall of the CCP. Though it still has much of the symbology and propaganda of Communist China, it is historically regarded a separate entity due to the fact that the CCP do not rule it and that calling this version of China anything even close to Communism would be comedy due to it's absolute obsession and adoration of the State and Authority, which communism is meant to be the abolishment of such things.

Function

As discussed, much of the CCP's Infrastructure is likely in the name of Long term stability, which means the concept of national and Local leaders and governments is still a thing. Unlike the CCP there is zero Mandate to serve the needs of the people so a far, far, far larger majority of people live in absolute poverty than in the already failing "Communist" Government.   The Big difference is that a Strong Central Dictator is simply built into the framework of the Government, whereas the CCP attempted reforms against such things that worked up until the Twilight Years of the CCP. There is never a risk that the Supreme Chairman can be legally challenged and the only actual internal threats are violent ones such as the PLA Remnants who fight for a Socialist China.   When it comes to the regional government they are all obedient to the Beijing Government which has historically been a huge centre of power for china. Regional Governments have little Freedom and must report everything to the Imperial government and are obedient to the Supreme Chairman. Sometimes these Regional governments try to rebel or try to restore the CCP only to be crushed and discovered early.

Budget and Finance

Ultranationalist China is not a Communist Country, any more and it ran a State Capitalist System and this has all been but dramatically expanded with the individual mattering very little to the system. The Government earns its budget through subsidies, contracts, lucrative deals with Russians and Colonialism as well as expansive taxes and low spending in any form of Welfare. Taxes are decided not by tax institutions but rather they are the ones who make the Supreme Chairmen's decree material.

How power is Maintained

China was devastated by the Water Shortages and these shortages eventually destroyed many countries near them. Due to this the KMT learned the importance of water and use dams and water to keep everyone in line. Should a City rebel, they switch off the water and force everyone to die of thirst before repopulating a city. In Imperial China everyone is replaceable and thus your continuing life is dependent on the whims of the Supreme Chairman.   Other valuable resources such as food and power is also similarly leveraged, even when it is costly the Imperial Regime will utilize anything to maintain power. The IAC is also another tool, soldiers will pillage and raid rebellious towns and cities should they not surrender to resource leveraging. If this all sounds old timey and a bit like how warlords ruled then you have a correct impression.   Every city swears absolute loyalty to their Emperor in all but name. Finally, if all else fails, The Supreme Chairmen has the mandate of heaven with religion being a huge component of controlling and compelling the population to do what the government wants.

Diplomacy

When it comes to diplomacy, Diplomats act as extensions of the Imperial Government and are expected to be eunuchs so that way they could never dream of being anything beyond what the chairmen allowed them to be. This has historical routes of course and indeed it doesn't stop them from occasionally betraying the government. The Empire wasn't interested in fighting great Russia but regularly struggles with Pacifica over pacific holdings.   Imperial China is very hostile to all the powers in the America's dreaming of one day bathing them all in nuclear fire or conquering them and genociding everyone on the continent and replacing them with the Supreme master race of the Han Chinese. Calling imperial Diplomacy deranged is underselling it. Should a diplomat fail to fulfil the will of a Supreme Chairmen too often, they will be executed for treason against the Empire.   Obviously, they struggle to get along with non-Chinese powers and occasionally botch their attempts to not aggravate the Great Russians.

Military

The Grand Army of China is a massive Mass deployment focused army that focuses on the mass projection of Force and Numbers, while individual assets and soldiers suffer in terms of quality and general effectiveness. They attempt to make up for it with overwhelming firepower and numbers. This is emblematic of the former PLA that came before them however the Imperial Army is engaged in twenty times the amount of conflict than the PLA ever engaged in most times.   This is because the IAC is an actively Imperialist Army and not a specifically Defensive Force and a tool of power projection. Instead, IAC deployments are often Active and often involve active engagements.

Development & Production

Unlike Communist China, Imperial China and the IAC has a wide variety of Former Nation States like India and their Populations to produce a massive scale of Goods and still manage to have China Produce a large portion of Military Equipment. In terms of Tech, the Chinese Military is currently reaching roughly 2030's-2040's tech that the US developed Decades prior.   Though the Lesser sophistication of their tech should never lead anyone to underestimate them, while they are not fielding the world's most versatile vehicles, the fact is their production output far exceeds Neo America and even the Production of Pre War China AND Russia Combined. This is because of dozens upon dozens of Giga factories producing an insane number of assets and vehicles.   Sure your APC has rocket boosters but the Chinese Infantry have enough RPGs to flatten Pre War New York!

Funding

The Military gets around 45-65% of the country's budget year after year and a lot of this money is generated by various sources from Black market Dealings, War profiteering and Taxpayer Money. The Budget of the Military sits at around 4.6 Trillion Yuan which is an increase from their Wartime spending under the CCP which was 1.45 Trillion Yuan (2022).   This is a 317% Increase, however, the value of things has changed and in current economic conditions, it's only a moderate improvement for the number of things they can fund and supply.

How Armies Are Made

The Royal Department of War commissions a new army and young men are conscripted into the army. Each House hold must have two sons, one son to be workers and another to be a soldier. When called upon the Son is sent into them military to serve for years bringing glory and prestige to his family should he succeed, also bringing home the spoils of war to support and enrich his family.   This is also how new soldier families are made as it is common practice to steal wives after the war to birth yet more soldiers and workers. Women are excluded from service except in exceptional circumstances. When these soldiers are fully trained they are put into Cohorts that make up Imperial armies, normally selected for specific campaigns and tasks and outfitted to do as much.   These armies are led by Imperial Generals who come from families of great prestige and honour and make a lot of profit from leading these armies into war and bringing back spoils which earns them the recognition of the supreme chairmen, all generals seeking to become the Grand General of the Imperial Army. Which makes the mthe direct representative of the chairmen.

Economy

CCP China was plagued with a water Problem and indeed that problem persists today, with roughly 47% of the current population having access to clean water, the rest normally have radioactive or contaminated water due to many Chinese Rivers being victimized by the Nuclear holocaust. The Water problem is a consistent drag on Chinese productivity.   To make up the difference, China's Industry has modernized to include totally automated factories to fit its immense needs. China now also encompasses India, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Pakistan, Parts of Afghanistan, Iran, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Both Koreas, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and the U.A.E.   This massive expansion of territory allowed the Chinese Empire to a wide array of resources, from precious minerals to Oil and Nuclear Elements such as Uranium which is essential to the Power Economy. While the Populations of those countries are or have been overwritten and replaced by Han Chinese, a lot of these regions are at least producing.

Living Standards

In the decline of CCP China, Living standards were starting to slip, especially for those who were not Han Chinese and this has only gotten worse, even though a large portion of the Chinese population is disenfranchised, the existence of further impoverished Minorities is a stabilizing factor simply because of the "At least I am not that guy" Mentality.   Those living in Major Cities like Wuhan, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Pyongyang and Seoul live comfortable enough lives and represent a massive majority of Chinese buying power. These Cities are megapoleis and are the world's largest cities with Millions upon Millions of people in similar conditions to Pre War Tokyo. These Cities are also the leading producers and consumers of goods and keep the Imperial Economy flowing.   For people living out in Rural China and in the occupied regions life is difficult and fraught with dangers from raiders, Mutants, the Civil War against the PLA and other Remnants of former countries. Water is in short supply and much land is desertified from the Nuclear Holocaust and devastating Climate change brought on by the event.   However people largely do not rebel as Smaller Towns and Cities depend on the big cities for goods and without their buying power, the farming they can afford to do either by farming in Lush zones or through Hydroponic farming would be all but worthless as it costs money to do that and they need to sell to someone.

Trading

Unlike the America's, China is not Isolated and has the Great Russian Empire and Oceania they can trade with enabling China to repurpose its former Export economic assets to once again mass produce for countries and fill the gaps of allied groups and bolster against their enemies on the American Continent. They did have a minor trading relationship with SATO but has long since abandoned them and focused on the other Economic regions.   There is a lot of filling gaps in their Export strategy and importing a lot of oil, for instance, there is 3 Silk Road Pipelines that fuel China's Oil and Gas needs as not all of China has converted to nuclear power. Around 58% of China's population is dependent on fossil fuels for power and thus there is still a big need for it, China's Reactors also used fuel coolant and frequently still require fuel.

Colonialism & War Profiteering

CCP China was Imperialist but contained this for the most part to selling loans and simply influenced nations through that way however those days have passed, instead Imperial China invades the nations, and reestablished puppet governments in the form of provincial governments that adhered to the central Imperial Government. It truly is an empire and the provinces all feed the empire.   In terms of war, Africa and the Middle East are hotbeds of long-lasting conflicts including profiting off its own ongoing civil war against the Remnants of the People's Liberation Army and various other resistance factions like the US Remnants in the Middle East and various insurgents and terrorists. Companies profit off these from contracting and make billions of Yuan doing it.

Currency Stabilization

By the 2060's the Majority of the severe damage to the Chinese Economy, and specifically to the Yuan was repaired and now currently sits at a level roughly comparable to 70's-80's era China. Experiencing an era of growth, the economy purposefully takes controlled dips to vent pressure and fine-tune the economic performance, even if it hurts the lower classes more then it does the Higher.   In previous eras, such as the direct period of time after Nuclear devastation which completely crashed the value of the Chinese Yuan which was already experiencing stagflation before the war and during it. It's estimated that at its current rate, the Yuan will return to pre-crash strength by 2120 CE.

Culture

China has become Ultra Nationalist and so every single element of its culture is obsessively worshipped even to the point of total cult-like behaviour. People also celebrate the leader in similar ways to CCP China in its Twilight. Xiaojin Thought they call it now, and it is the guiding ethos that guides China's Hyper Nationalist and authoritarian Culture with traditional Notions of gender roles and hyper-fixation on Masculinity and its virtues.

Gender Roles

In Imperial China, Men and Women have a very clear role and this is an excessively invasive concept, a real return to form. Women can only serve in certain roles and are chosen for their more 'masculine' traits. Women who work or serve in the military for example are treated differently and exist in their own class. A Class designed for women who fail to find a suitor by the age of 16 and fail to marry by 18.   These Working class women are expected to perform at the same level as men but suffer higher scrutiny, sexualization and discrimination. Those who 'endure' are given more respect while those who complain are bashed and shamed as ungrateful. Men on the other hand unlike western Gender roles have strict requirements, all Men by the age of 14 are supposed to start working their first job and begin managing their own bank accounts.   Men *MUST* provide for the family and their wives, failure to comply with this standard can lead to shunning and shaming putting immense social pressure on every man to succeed. Emotional and mental health are secondary considerations if ever.

Traditionalism

Many Families celebrate China's traditional culture from wearing traditional clothes to playing old instruments and songs. To perform authentic traditional martial arts. They prey and celebrate many of China's old and forgotten gods and have many, many memorials, statues, museums, parks and whatnot celebrating China's culture, even under the Communist party.   Rather than being held in infamy, the CCP was seen as a necessary measure to defeat the Old and rotten KMT and when the time was right, the New KMT was to take over. using the fact that the western world abandoned them as for their reasoning on why China is the way it is.

Westernization

One concept in the CCP was the concept of Modernization and indeed many aspects brought on by this still survive in some forms today, for instance, the concept of Supremacy and specifically the Western strain of White supremacy exists but in the form of Han Supremacy. This was embraced by the CCP and then doubled down on and reinforced by the Imperial Government and then celebrated by the General Public.

Mono Culture

In Imperial China there is no room for cultural exchanges, only the Chinese must be celebrated, even appropriating elements of cultures they dominated and then wiped out and characterizing them as always an element of Chinese Culture. This is explained by falsely that all of the countries that China is controlling are owed to China by the rite of Destiny and the proclamation of the Chairman.   Thus the Native cultures of those lands are somehow the Invaders and the Chinese need to reclaim their lost homelands, claiming all of Asia as their own. Despite the Horrible realities of it all, China has recovered from what it lost during the cultural purge shortly after Mao's victory over Nationalist China. The Price for it was steep and now the question remains.   Could Imperial China one day embrace a multicultural society and celebrate Asia as a whole or will it simply erase all of the beauty and diversity and replace it all with a conformist view of everything?

LGBTIQ+ Rights

It wasn't looking good in the CCP, even though one of the guiding lights of both Communism and Socialism is the embracing of all peoples of all creeds and unifying the People as the People. The Dream of Equal Rights and Representation in China has never ever been further from reality, Homosexuality is Illegal and considered antithetical to the Health of the Nation.   Where in America you as a woman could kiss another and worry about business prospects and treatment, In china you are outright arrested and re-educated to 'correct' you. This is due to the Hyper traditionalist nature of Imperial Culture and its obsession over Purity and all that is 'natural'. Homosexuality is seen as a weapon of the west, designed to destabilise and hurt national unity.   Indeed some of this existed under the CCP but it is outright bolstered by the KMT and their Imperialist Nature.

Media

Chinese Media is exceptionally robust and has been a massive money horse for the Government, producing 100's of movies every year to be watched by the huge populace with quite a bit of money put into it. Online and gaming ventures also exist with the Imperial Bloc's biggest game producers being produced within the country. Unlike the CCP, the Imperial Regime depends on the Media to stabilize politics and cover the gaps the Propaganda can't fill.   That being said Propaganda is massive in the regime and every citizen is endlessly propagandized against the America's and sold the Imperialistic vision of China every day of their lives. Advertisements are very common and all of them include some form of government-approved message, this level of control is considered to be protective by the general populace and seen as necessary in the name of social cohesion.

Architecture

With a Celebration of everything traditional, a mix of postmodern and traditional styles has been adopted, you'll find that the buildings have a lot of Chinese designs on them from their special roofs, to some having paper walls then decorated with neon signs, glass buildings and modern designs. It's a very pretty aesthetic. Buildings are designed with the idea of stability in mind.   In the past Chinese Construction Companies were corrupt and often did poor jobs, leading to many infrastructural inefficiencies and in wild cases, buildings collapsing in on themselves. This is not the case anymore, everything must be perfect. It not only needs to look good but also functions well. This leads to China having some of the most well-built and beautiful cities in the world.

Demographics

Population: 3.4 Billion   China now covers a lot of countries, it's probably just as big as Russia with a lot of Population density in China and coastal regions with a large rural population elsewhere, this means that Imperial China is bigger than CCP China could ever realistically support. The reason behind the high population is high poverty which results in families having multiple children because some of them will die.   There are also environmental factors in effect that tend to kill people off, giving the motivation to boost the births of new people. Child mortality is pretty high and healthcare isn't always easy to come by with some places having tiny hospitals or local Doctors to depend on. In the cities, they use the high population to fuel the economy and repair the damage done by the collapse.   During the 2020's CCP China was hit with a demographic collapse however since then uncontrolled population growth has seen the return of China's massive Industrial and agricultural output but the empire doesn't trade with the Americas. Most of its trade and product goes to Russia, its empire and Pacifica. The age share is relatively biased towards the young as the old often die too quickly to ever be a problem for the economy.   Meaning pensioners remain low, this is by design as the KMT wish to keep from making the mistakes of the Past CCP Regime.
