Battle of St. Louis, Missouri

Military: Battle

2036CE
2038CE

General Sternn of the United States Army led the 2nd Reclamation Corpse into the City of Saint Louis early in 2036 to tame the worsening bio-hazardous threat of NEC-27 in the area. The Area was one of the major cities lost to the initial NEC-27 Outbreaks during the collapse and if left unchecked, the Plague would continue to spread throughout America.
To contain the Spread the CDC recommended Military Intelligence to stop fighting minor infestations and to instead directly attack the Heart of the infection. The Battle of Saint Louis is one of the horrific Meat Grinders that taught the Military how to fight NEC-27 Effectively but the battle was also one of the cases that proved NEC-27 was there to stay.
According to documented Reports, The Army had to resort to moving fortresses, modifying Abrams Tanks into Super Heavy tanks covered in barbed wire with several heavy guns inserted into the side panels, frames had to be enlargened to handle more ammo. These Super Abrams tanks would then roll through with heavily armoured Exterminator Troopers who carried heavy protective Equipment and fired guns that exclusively were chambered in higher calibres such as 308, 762 and 6.8MM.
These Teams were supported by highly agile and light Helicopters travelling in swarms which can quickly evacuate lots of Troopers in and out of combat zones. The preferred location for FOBs was highly fortified Air bases that grew massive over the course of the Battle.
Eventually, Saint Louis was cleared of NEC-27 but it would be some time before any economic interest would ever return. Leaving Saint Louis a bombed-out decaying ruin for much of the 21st Century.
