Safe Haven Project

Construction beginning/end

The United States Completed planning for a Grand Project known as the Safe Haven Project, the Project would fundamentally transform how American Cities were planned and built. Rather than the Freeform and Chaotic Organic Growth allowed to go on throughout the 20th Century, 21st Century Cities would all be walled off with dedicated Zones and optimised Infrastructure.
  The New Model required rigorous Central Planning and cohesion. The Project was a limited Success, while most Cities were walled off, it was hard to coordinate all the resources to effectively implement all the Upgrades. The Low Socio Cohoesion also contributed to various disasters such as the Green Edge Disaster which saw large sections of Greater New York Irradiated and devasted by crime and upheaval.
  Money Laundering and corruption also plagued the project, causing money to constantly deplete and put a terrible drain on the already strained US Funding Infrastructure. By 2048, the Project was abandoned and major figures of the corruption were assassinated by Henry House for treason.
  The Project left many Cities in disarray with incomplete structures, massive chaotic expansions and poor infrastructure. Even major Highways suffered major collapses several times over, with some not even being fully built before they collapsed fully.
  This would cripple the US with time.
