Quick Overview of the History of the Lordanian Cluster

Lordania and the Terran Commonwealth remake contact. They are greeted by a large civil war between the Ares Confederation and the Terran Commonwealth. This shattered hopes of a peaceful reunification, and instead, representatives gather at the Lordanian Senate to debate the matter of re-unification. In the end, the Senate votes to remain independent.

The Lordanian Dollar is established and accepted across the Cluster, serving as a unified currency model for the entire region.

Back in Sol, the split between the United Systems of Sol and the Gilgamesh Confederation causes much unease in the cluster, leading to the founding of a formal military between the nations. The Lordanian Navy is founded, serving as the first stepping stone in the attempts to centralise control over member states, drifting from a confederation of aligned planets to a formal federal government.

  By 2235, many prisons across interplanetary space were facing overcrowding, and rather than face the potential bill of constructing more prisons, the First Lordanian Republic established the Pinascimate Penal Authority on Tersten.

The Dynamic Economy Act authorised nationalisation of various private entities in the Lordanian Cluster. The bill was passed with support from most parties. In an interplanetary con, the Senate of Lordania made itself considerably richer than the rest of the Second Republic, causing many states of the Republic to effectively go bankrupt overnight, owing tremendous debt to Lordanian companies.

We owe our Lordanian brethren for the birth of our people. But this was not a choice, this was forced upon us all. The people of Pinascimate have paid their dues, and earned the rights to their freedom.

  As the Lordanian Economy began to collapse in the 2250s, more and more prisoners earned their freedom, or escaped into the uncharted regions of the planet. A prominent convict-politician, Jonathan Tersten, leads intense negotiations with the Lordanian Government that culminates in the abolishment of the penal system on the planet.

Our planet has lost it's leader, but gained it's first citizen. In his passing, we find our destiny amongst the stars. We, the people, hereby declare the name of Pinascimate be returned to the dark history of our past. We look to the future as the people of Tersten.

  A dispute between Pinascimate and Nevada threatened to boil into a military conflict, until Jonathan Tersten, at-the-time Governor of Pinascimate, stepped in to defuse the situation. Proving his commitment to peace, he travelled the 24600km distance between Pinascimate and Nevada. Following fifteen days of intense negotiation, the two regions had settled for peace. Returning home to the Pinascimate capital of Freetown, Tersten's aircraft suffered a serious malfunction and crashed in a barren region of the planet now near the city of White Ocean.   Intent to continue the peace Tersten died to see, the region of Pinascimate voted to rename itself and the planet to 'Tersten'. Nevadan Governor Bill Williamson supported and fully recognised the renaming of the planet, finally putting an end to the stains of the planet's penal past.

The Election of '60 was a major turning point in the history of the First Lordanian Republic. The Unitarian Party secured a majority of votes across the entire Lordanian Cluster. The new Consul, Leonard Percy, soon instituted a dictatorial regime under the guise of the people.

Never again shall brother and sister be separated by an arbitrary line in the sand.

What should have been a tremendous occasion for the Tersten people, was in fact a show of power by the People's Republic of Lordania. The creation of the Tersten State only served to legitimise the People's Republic in the eyes of the populace, who had refused to abide by the Nevada/Tersten line.

The Attempted Purge of 2266 lives on in Lordanian history as both a travesty and a comedy of errors. Leonard Percy ordered a purge of moderates and anti-unitarians, including Jacques Garcin. After the assassination of Garcin failed, he was able to notify many of the other targets and help them flee underground. Finishing what had been started by the Dynamic Economy Act, the Unitarians nationalised most of the cluster. Few corporations were spared, those that worked with the PRL were able to remain functional, but heavily influenced by Unitarian affairs.

Broadcast around the Lordanian Cluster, the Response of the Cinuan to Consul Leonard Percy came at the conclusion of the Majlis Alhuriya's demand to the People's Republic of Lordania. A young Cinuan named Saheem Ahmad delivered the passionate, and obscenity-laden speech in response to repeated violations of human rights by the Unitarian Party. In the speech, he repeatedly insults Leonard Percy and calls for his death.   The speech became infamous overnight, being replayed across the Cluster and beyond. It was considered an arrestable offence to have a copy of the broadcast in Lordanian space.

After a year under siege, the surviving PRL forces on Kingston negotiate a quick surrender in New Havana. Several pockets of resistance lingers on several small islands for seven months until the last armed skirmish completely destroys them.

Democratic crusader and leader of The Brotherhood, Jacques Garcin dies in Nouveaulyon.

After six congressional meetings, the Congress of the Cinuan People announces the creation of the Cinuan Union. With it, territory was divided along historical and cultural boundries, with its people free to govern themselves. Cinu  swiftly joins the Democratic League.

The Gaia Conflict, also known as the War of Gilgamesh Containment, was a conflict between the United Systems of Sol and the Gilgamesh Confederation. It began in 2292 and concluded in 2296.
