Majlis Alhuriya
The Majlis Alhuriya is a political society dedicated to the establishment of a democratic republic on Cinu. Against the People's Republic of Lordania, the MA was militant in its resistance against Unitarian control. It was founded as a government-styled organisation, with the intent of becoming Cinu's Government-In-Exile. They were successful in kickstarting the Cinu Revolution, one part of the Lordanian Revolution.
Post-Independence, the Majlis Alhuriya has become a fraternal society dedicated to the continuous existence of democratic freedom and civil rights for all.
The Majlis Alhuriya operates many youth organisations and is extremely active in universities and liberal circles. While as a whole, it is expected that the society does not outwardly influence politics, its core members and founding members are incredibly influential in Cinuan politics, and the group is largely considered to be the dominant group in Cinuan politics.
It has recently seen a political split developing between the old guard, who support a politically neutral Cinu, versus the young activists who support more influence in space politics and an active involvement in the Republic-Confederate split.
History
The Majlis Alhuriya was formed out of the various nations in exile and resistance groups that opposed the People's Republic of Lordania during their occupation of Cinu from 2264 to 2280.
Spearhead by Louis Poincaré, a former resident of Cinu who had fled the Unitarian purges, an interplanetary resistance group known as The Brotherhood helped to unite the various groups into an organised government in exile, with clear civilian, military, and government distinctions, and the spreading of modern guerrilla tactics.
Together, the Majlis Alhuriya were able to occupy Cinu and establish the modern Republic of Cinu, where it has since become a political brotherhood society across political beliefs. Many young people join the society and it remains an influential political establishment in Cinuan politics.
