Saheem Ahmad

Saheem Ahmad (2222 - 2300) was a Cinuan politician and freedom fighter who was part of the Majlis Alhuriya. In 2277, the Retaliation of a Hundred Swords took place, with the Cinuan Government-in-Exile taking control of regions of the planet and delivering and ultimatum to the People's Republic of Lordania. During the televised event, which was broadcast both in the Cluster and beyond, Ahmad rose to speak on behalf of the Cinuan People, to which he delivered the Response of the Cinuan to Consul Leonard Percy, earning him interstellar infamy. He became the face of the Majlis Alhuriyan Government, though remained a minor part of the Cinuan Government until 2285.
In 2285, Ahmad was elected to State Speaker of the Cinuan Union. He led a faction of the Majlis Alhuriya known as the Traditionalists, who aimed to continue the work of the revolution into the Lordanian Interregnum Period. He was strongly opposed to Fazel Aslani and his Liberal faction. This rival between the two culminated in Aslani leaving the Majlis, and taking the Majlis' majority in politics. Ahmad is recognised as one of Cinu's 'Great Compromisers', as he helped lead Cinu into the Second Lordanian Republic. He resigned shortly after the vote, and retired to his home in Al-Mular, where he died in 2300.
