The years prior to the unification of Earth and the founding of the First Solar Republic was a dark and terrible time. All humans have ancestors that suffered heavily during this time, and that trauma is shared by most of modern humanity. It is a period that has given way to intense mythologising, a time of larger than life heroes and villains, of great and terrible deeds, and a time of massive societal and ecological change.

First Lunar and Martian Colonies Established
FoundingRecognising the need to become an interplanetary species, the first Human colonies are established in a relatively short period. While small bases and temporary outposts had been present on the Moon since the late 20s and early 30s, it was in 2051 that the first joint civilian operations were undertaken, with a non-military population. While Lunar Colonisation was important, it was Martian Colonisation that attracted the attention of most people, with their early colonists being seen as founding figures, and awarded a great deal of mythos in the years after. One such figure was Grace Mogdenwe, whose descendants would go on to establish several monarchies across Human space. This was a brief period of optimism for all involved, but it couldn't last. Tensions on Earth are continuing to build, and the colonies serve only a temporary release of pressure.

The Martian Colonial States
Political eventThe early Martian colonies are a success. They are mostly self-sufficient, and they are spreading. For the most part, immigration to the colonies is controlled by the Earthly government that created them. But already, this is becoming untenable. Earth's Governments can barely control their own lands, let alone another world. People are not thing arriving on Mars, as they bring with them their own ideas and opinions on how a state should be run. Over a three year period, the majority of Martian colonies are transitioning towards new identities and new politics.
