Democratic League

The Democratic League was a temporary political confederation and military alliance between the planets of Nouveaulyon and Tyannani. It expanded to eventually include modern day Confederate Systems of Lordania borders. The League was founded in 2280 by prominent The Brotherhood leaders as the first step towards the re-establishment of democratic government in the systems under their control.
In response to the establishment of the Second Lordanian Republic, the Democratic League evolved into a confederacy government, absorbing the Brotherhood into its military arm.

Structure

The League was an alliance between the Republic of Tyannani, and the United Nouveaulyon Socialist Republics that ensured unrestricted trade between the two states. It was jointly commanded by two admirals, appointed by both states. This eventually grew to include five admirals, one for each member of the League. This included Visser, Chard, and Indus.
This form of leadership was not designed with longevity, which led to it being replaced by the confederate system of government in 2288.

Disbandment

In response to the formation of the Second Lordanian Republic, the Democratic League and The Brotherhood fomally merge to create the Confederate Systems of Lordania
