Kikwit

Kikwit is a large city in south Rutreumura, a continent on the planet Nouveaulyon, and the capital of the Socialist Republic of Kikwit. It is most known for the Kikwit Arsenal, which was stormed during the Lordanian Revolution. Much of the city is built around the manmade Kikwit Canal, a vast artificial body of water stretching from the Océan Austral and connecting it with the Gassane Sea. As a result, Kikwit is one of Nouveaulyon's most industrious cities, seeing ships passing through its central canal daily.

Architecture

Much of Kikwit has been designed in a New Classical style, focusing on traditional architectural styles and combining it with sustainable living.  Many parks and open green spaces, as well as rooftop allotments and gardens cover the entire city with green, which gives the city its distinct views.

Geography

Much of Kikwit is built around the Kikwit Canal, a vast artificial body of water stretching from the Océan Austral and connecting it with the Gassane Sea.  The city has expanded to cover both sides of the canal, termed North Kikwit and South Kikwit.   The city does not stretch the entire length of the canal, but has grown to have close links with satellite towns and settlements further along.
