Deepdark
The Deepdark, sometimes called Deepearth, is the name of the enormous system of subterranean caves, caverns, and tunnels located beneath the surface of Exorsia. The Deepdark has yet to be properly mapped due to the hostile environment and denizens of the region.
The Deepdark is not one giant connected cavern, but many huge cavern networks and caves, that sometimes, but not always, connect, with it unlikely that someone could travel from one end of the Deepdark to the other.
Large parts of the Deepdark are ruled by both the Children of Arachne and the Deeftgar Clans, who are often in conflict with each other, the hostile wildlife, or the surface.
Identified and named regions of the Deepdark include the Twilight Caverns, the Myconid Grove, the Lake of Silence and the Spider Burrows.
Location: Between 3 and 10 miles beneath the planet's crust.
Climate: Subterranean (−0 °C to 20 °C).
Shared Characteristics: Grey to obsidian black skin and fair, commonly white hair.
Geography
The Deepdark consist of large subterranean tunnels deep beneath the earth, filled with bioluminescent plants, fungi and vast underground lakes.
The temperature underground varies according to depth and the proximity of thermal activity, though it is usually slightly clammy or chilly, with the underground lakes being dangerously cold.
