Ashfall Range
The Ashfall Range is a lifeless and barren mountain range located in the west of Hepsut, with it traveling down the western coast of the continent. The north and south of the mountains are bisected by the Ashfall River, which flows into the nearby Slavers Bay.
The Ashfall Range is under the control of the Coven of Maran, with both the settlements of Navin and Soldaris residing at their base. Both settlements also mine beneath the Ashfall Range mountains for ores and other resources.
The mountains of the Ashfall Range, and the land around them, are largely devoid of life and vegetation, with plants and crops struggling to survive without constant attention. It is believed by local scholars that a great magical tragedy occurred in the region during the Age of Arcanum, or before, cleansing the land of life, and preventing it from ever growing back. While no record of such an event has yet been recovered, it is theorised that such an event is likely to have occurred during the Sun War, between 234 BF and 221 BF. Scholars and local Druids have spent centuries attempting to revitalise the land, to no avail.
