Mirror Lake
Mirror Lake, named Nendë Angal in Elvish, is a large body of water located within the Silven Vale jungle, in the north of Hepsut.
The Mirror Lake get's it's name for it's unnaturally clear, still and reflective waters, which do not ripple, and give a clear reflection of the sky, as well as the nearby Mountain of Reflection, which lies directly north of the lake. The reason for this phenomenon is unknown, but it likely magical in nature, and may be related to the temple of Azare'shir, and the Cave of Reflection located at the base of the Mountain of Reflection,.
The lake is home to numerous species of fish and other aquatic animals, unseen anywhere else in the world, many of which are strange looking and bioluminescent, illuminating the lake's waters during the night. Much of the local wildlife within the lake is also aggressive and dangerous, known to attack and even sink boats that try and cross it's waters.
The town of Vir'mathus also lies on the southern banks of the Mirror Lake, though they do well to avoid the lake's waters. While the town was founded near the lake to be a source of water and food, the population are currently warned against fishing from the lake, or even drinking it's water unpurified. This is due to a string of undocumented diseases that ravaged the town's population over the years, who's source was determined to be the Mirror Lake and the strange enchantment that permeates the Silven Vale.
