Bélon
Bélon is a small, humble farming town located in northern Hepsut, situated within the Hepite Plains, and on the eastern banks of the Indara River.
Bélon is under the jurisdiction of the Coven of Maran, but largely acts independently, with the local government given almost total control over local policy. The people of Bélon also elect their own Minister, which is supported by the Coven, who advise the Minister on local matters, and usually only interfere when aid is requested, or when the Minister is found abusing their power.
Bélon has an industrial focus on agriculture, with it known as the "bread basket" of the Hepsut, supplying a majority of the Coven of Maran with food, particularly wheat. While the town of Bélon itself is relatively small, the land surrounding it is filled with lush farmland, primarily growing wheat and other crops, but some fields are reserved for raising livestock.
Government
Bélon is governed by a Minister, who is elected by the local farmers every three years, and is supported by the Coven of Maran.
Defence
Bélon is defended by a garrison of Enforcers, lead by an Overseer, the local police force of the Coven of Maran. The Enforcers of Bélon are responsible for combating both local crime, and defending the outer farmsteads from wild animal attacks.
Commerce
Bélon is the primary supplier of crops and animal products across the Coven of Maran, cultivating the nearby farmland. Most of it's produce being transported via the Indara Road to the capital city of Maran, while the rest of it is shipped to the other settlements within the Coven of Maran, or even traded with neighbouring nations or local independent settlements. Wheat is the town's primary export.
Bélon also has a small fishing industry, cultivating the Indara River.
Geography
Bélon is a small town located on the eastern banks of the Indara River. The town itself is a collection of simple, mostly wooden buildings, centred around the town tall and clocktower, with a small harbour located on the riverside.
Most of the population of Bélon live to the north and south of the town, in numerous farmsteads spread across the vast acres of farmland up and down the length of the Indara River, with the land being dedicated to crops and livestock, as well as massive wheat fields. Very little farmland lies to the east of the town, due to the proximity to the Alderan Desert.
