Harmljóð Lake

Harmljóð Lake, which translated to Lament Lake in Dwarvish, is a large lake located at the centre of a ring of the Kronghenton Mountains, in the mid south of the continent of Kronghenton.

Waters from the surrounding mountains all flow down to Harmljóð Lake, pooling within the deep lake which descends deep into the earth, flooding the numerous tunnels beneath it.

Harmljóð Lake is believed to reside in the exact location at which the ancient Throne of the God-King once stood. The point at which the ancient Giants of Forvarkan built the mountain of Guðkonungsfjall, and the grand palace within it, the centre point of their ancient city. But now almost nothing remains of Guðkonungsfjall following the end of the Forvarkan Civil War of the early Age of Arcanum, the entire mountain, and the palace within it, was destroyed and ripped from the earth, leaving the crater that now houses the Harmljóð Lake. Only faint archaeological remnants of the Throne of the God-King can be found around the lake.
