Florenelle Races
Core Races
Dwarves
In Calvora, particularly the Kingdom of Trinidad, they are known as dwarves. They are hard-working and unapologetic people that keep to themselves for the most part. They are like the Trinians with their love for the king but hate the lords for all they’re worth.
In Thracallia, they’re known as dwarrin because their name has been butchered in history during the Necromantic War. Most are in the north with the Zhari. A boisterous and hospitable people within the cold. As for the Scandians, a more warrior-centered people, value strength and camaraderie the most.
Elves
Elves vary greatly within Florenelle. All except the Sadarren are considered part of the great elven lineage that believes Orrilius is the grandest father of elves and fey. It’s why a lot of inner conflict among Faene peoples can seem like its resolved how family would.
For Calvoran elves, namely the Altallen, they aren’t as attached to the Feydom’s beliefs but they can be with Orrilius. Namely, they instead seek celestial guidance from Haven, whether it’s with the Gregorian Church or with the Vindicate Church.
Eladrin and Nivallen dominate the continent of Thracallia as they are close rivals.
Drow are commonly found in Undarid and are notorious for their hostile tensions there. It’s those who come to Florenelle that are seen as wanting to escape that environment.
Lunadrin are a new subrace that dwell in the Night City of Mondomiri. They are descendants of the drow and live in high-rising gothic structures.
Halflings and Gnomes
An unfortunate fate for these small people is how few their numbers are. Many are scattered and their numbers being dwindled as a result of the Necromantic War.
Human
Humans vary widely in range. They are commonly found in the continent of Calvora, Oceania, Prageria, and Yanping.
Uncommon Races
Dragonborn
Dragonborns are the hardy people from the continent of Drakmir. They descend from dragons as one would expect. The dragonborns are respected for their strength and generosity as they guard and defend their people from intruders.
Half-Elves
Half-elves are born in two worlds: of elves and humans. There’s a stereotype towards them that because of this factor, they go mad from the thought of losing their human loved ones early and their elven outliving them. If they can’t find a way to cope with trying to find a balance then it is likely some form of mild anxiety forms.
Half-Orcs
Half-orcs are a fairly uncommon circumstance. Ilshmari don’t really intertwine with other races out of love and usually from the lack of consent if it’s the case. Regardless, half-orcs are met with more scrutiny in Faene society because of their rivalry with Ilshmar’s warbands.
Tieflings
Tieflings are born from an Infernal parent or if their parent had made a significant Infernal deal or continual Infernal deals. Usually significant include selling their soul, deals that are made to strongly influence others like paying debts, falling in love, and more. A tieflings’ Infernal heritage often intimidates people or draws pity for a situation they had no control.
New Setting Races
Blethers
Where warforged in Eberron are artificial constructs, blethers are more of an organic construct. Instead of metals they are made from refining syrupy tree sap and other tree-like paste. They are often made by nobility to act as servants and soldiers among the ranks of the Triumvirate.
Gnolls
Gnolls are descended from the warriors who followed Sar'Ganockt during the Necromantic War. To this day, they maintain scattered warbands that pillage and terrorize all sorts of poorly defended settlements. Though, some gnolls occasionally leave such a life behind them and instead pursue a more constructive approach that still suits their inner chaotic-aligned mindset like bounty hunting and mercenary work.
Vren
Early vren were far more primitive and basic but when their arcane renaissance happened, they became addicted to the use of magic to influence their day-to-day lives. Their leadership in Vrexen known as the Consulate founded the schools of magic as they saw patterns to their uses. Though, the school of necromancy is recognized but they refuse to give any lessons on practicing it out of fear of the Arkonian Order.
