Arkan
Galaxy most famous for its single, massive, galaxy-wide ecosystem which forms a food chain. It is also the territory of both the Troznux Clans and Unified Arkan Council, both star nations of the Hyperion Federation.
Some of the species evolved to land on planets to get away from the massive predators, because the scale law is more harsh in gravity.
This is also why no other civilizations have been found in Arkan.
Arkan is an inactive spiral galaxy with 4 arms.
The Arkan galaxy was notably more difficult to detect as the native life there harnesses the vast majority of energy emitted by the stars. For example, Amoeba Spheres would only emit a weak infrared source while photosynheiszing the energy from an entire star. The Harkas has also harnessed many parts of the galaxy with a surprising efficiency. The various ecosystems across the galaxy can vary massively as all different sectors have life that has divergently evolved significantly over the many years since they were engineered.

Ecosystem
As high energy cosmic events are far more frequent closer to the core of a galaxy, the ecosystem can vary wildly depending on distance from the core, which galactic arm they are in, regardless of if they actually are in such an arm (Arkan is a galaxy with 4 arms). It can also vary on a star system level as the light from the star gets weaker with distance. For example, creatures that evolve to harness intense solar light close to the star would not survive far away from the star.
There are a large amount of microbial organisms close to the core, harnessing the intense cosmic events and radiation. There would be smaller multicellular organisms feeding on them, but larger ones would not survive the extreme cosmic radiation.
Supernovae can have immense, lasting impacts on an ecosystem. Initially, trillions of organisms of many species will be killed in the blast before small microbial orgsnisms take over to harness the immense potential of energy. Slowly, an ecosystem can come back to life, tempoarily anyway, before most of the energy of the blast is used. Organisms will however harness energy from any stellar remnants, e.g. black holes, neutron stars. Many species have evolved to harvest hawking radiation or take energy from the immense magnetic field of a neutron star.
One of the most important ecosystem producers are the Astromoeba. These would inhabit stars and cause them to release nutrients that could be obtained by other species outside the star which allows the large ecosystem to grow.
Localized Phenomena
There are several Spatial Rifts placed down by multiple ancient factions. They were placed to stop the bioships; however they always found a way around the rifts. No organism has ever existed that could repair rifts permanantly.
History
Arkan was once a normal galaxy, inhabited my a large quantity of sentient species, each with their own civilization. Factions rose and fell. One faction, the Harkas, decided to seed all the species of Arkan seen now. They did this to destroy all their enemies by swarming them with these bioships that self-reproduce. They simply ate every other faction. This same move would also advance them massively, making them a type 3 civilization.
