Precursor Star Lifter Rakalaj

Rakalaj was a powerful star lifter built around a class A star by the Xadia Ancients. Eons later, the Republic of Miasi found and colonised it.
This megastructure, as well as the various tations orbiting it, have become key to advancing the technology of the Republic. They reverse-engineered several wreckages. Although the only usable technology they ended up with would be inertia neutralization fields, reducing the effective inertial mass of their starships, this technology still plays a significant role in the Republic military. Much of their doctrine uses superior speed to outrun their enemy. Due ot its importance, the system is a weak point of the faction. This is often targeted by enemies of the Republic, however attacks can be difficult as the megastructure also has multiple precursor defence stations orbiting it. 
There are no other planets in the star system as they were disassembled to build the star lifter.
