Xarnas III
Xarnas III is a planet in the Xarnas System, Arcturus, under study by the Hyperion Science Association HSA.
Xarnas III was the ancient, legendary homeworld of the Xadia Ancients. This planet held a massive importance to the Xadia, but counterintuitively, relatively few archaeotech artifacts are found. However, the HSA puts a lot of effort into studying the pre-space history of the Xadia by studying some pre-archaeotech artifacts, which are far less advanced than later Xadia technology, such as their primitive weapons.
Xarnas III has been reduced to a regular habitable world - the surface is safe to live on, but the Xadia themselves are gone. The planet has a population of several million. This is also not the planet where the HF discovered that the system was their home.
The HSA uses primarily sound based machines to map all the artifacts underground. Although ancient machines such as the Xadia equivalent of a printing press aren't useful to the HF, they are incredible resources for historians attempting to figure out Xadia culture.
Due to its high historical value, the HF has made it illegal to mine on this world. Additionally, it is not that rich in minerals anyway, being comparable to an average planet in terms of resource richness. It is strange how such a powerful faction began on a planet such as this one.
