Xarnas Operation Station

The Xarnas Operation Station is a very large station built by the Hyperion Science Association HSA in the Xarnas System following the discovery that this system was the homeworld of the Xadia Ancients.

It was a significant effort to construct in the very short time it was planned. The 40 km station was built in 4 years. It is designed to perform many administration duties within this star system and provide a chain of command for any scientists working in or near the system, effectively organizing the entire effort. It is also used as a check-in station. For security reasons, all ships arriving in the system must arrive at this station to be checked before visiting any planets or other imprtant astronomical bodies. The station itself orbits at a decently large radius, between the 4th and 5th planets in the system.
The station is powered by both Planck-Dismantlement Beam and antimatter annihilation core, along with a zero-point energy backup. Matter is brought to the station via Teleporters and Positrino - Class Planck - Dismantlement Drone. The station is the center of an ever increasing effort to extract archaeotech and information. As such it has been designed to be upgradeable and modular and can be easily expanded. Furthermore, it is also used as a military shipyard station. It can construct new starships, allowing the HF to defend this system much more effectively using starships and defence platforms. Although it is not currently as powerful as a fortress, the HF are also rapidly building up its defences and it is clear that soon attacks on the system will become virtually impossible.
