Hanslen Rifter
An Arkanian Troznux bioship. Hanslen Rifters are known for their highly unique defensive mechanism - when under threat, they place down tears in space similar to Spatial Rifts. This will hide their position from predators and enemy starships, prevent them from shooting the Hanslen Rifter and prevent them from comming closer.
Although true Spatial Rifts do not decay, ones placed by Hanslen Rifters will decay after several hours. This trait was engineered intentionally as to not make them destroy their own habitats with rifts.
Hanselen Rifters are propelled through space using organs that react various combustible chemicals and produces a powerful force. These particles are quite energy intensive to make, and can exhaust the rifter making them. Due to this, they can be slow to accelerate but the ability to create spatial rifts is the primary thing keeping them safe.
Hanselen rifters also have large exterior organs which the body heats up to high temperatures, this serves primarily as a heatsink and radiates heat to space via infrared radiation. As a hanselen rifter can produce a lot of body heat, these radiators are large and can be a distinguishing feature.
The body is also capable of FTL travel. One of the largest organs is capable of creating gravitons. This is a very energy intensive process but by using graviton wave refraction, a rifter can warp space enough to create a warp bubble and travel at FTL velocity.

They reproduce at an average rate for their size. They have male and female sexes and reproduce similarly to mammals.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
Rifters are most commonly found in the dark area between 2 spiral arms of the Arkan galaxy. This is to hide from larger predators.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Psionic superluminal location. Most bioshiops in Arkan exploit this. They also have eyes for short range sensory capability. Their eyes are large and can zoom to see objects at longer distances clearer.

They were seeded by the faction that seeded all the bioships of Arkan.
They achieved sapience several years after that. They dont have any hands, however, so cannot build their own civilization. They never did.
Despite the active hostilities of the factions that were originally in their area of space, however, they still reproduced rapidly thanks to their rift defensive mechanism. They have a very significant population in current times.
Well after all the civilizations collapsed, the Hyperion Federation discovered Arkan. They also found out about the Rifters. Eventually, they formed the Troznux Clans, and Rifters were one of the first member species to join.
As such, they learned about all the other species in Arkan, and all over intergalactic space. Now they make for a powerful force to deploy against the enemies of the HF. In exchange, Rifters recieved technology and safety under the HF.
