Aurigae System

Star system of Aurigae, a class A star, located in the Carina galaxy. It also forms the home system of the Phelke Commonwealth, who originate from the world of Zanrilles. Due to the high luminosity of the star, Zanrilles must be very far from it to be able to sustain life. This also gives it and the world its orbiting, Cyora, a huge orbital period.
The Aurigae system is defended very well by the HF because of the Phelke homeworld. They use a massive number of defence platforms and starships in this system and nearby systems. By defending nearby systems, attacks can be prevented entirely on the Aurigae system in the first place. Furthermore, the system has a large population which alone gives it a large value, as the HF in general is underpopulated. There is also a lot of mining equipment in the system, and it is a key area of the HF for production of matter plasma, used for replicators. A lot of these materials come from the Cyora system, the various planets that orbit the gas giant but most of it is mined from other planets in the system because they are less valuable and add up to a lot of material.
The Aurigae system specifically was chosen by the Xadia Ancients due to its location. The phelke were placed near systems with deposits of valuable materials, including one system that (at the time) was projected to supernova and create monopoles before the phelke reaches space. They were correct. The Phelke Commonwealth had early acess to magnetic monopoles. The system has only been attacked a few times before the HF - Phelke First Contact. After that, spies of enemy factions have managed to enter the system but have never done any significant damage outside of espionage. They also perform star lifting on the parent star, which can give them more matter plasma and energy and also increases the lifespan of the star due to the removal of heavy elements. This theoretically makes the system last longer before it goes supernova, but stars usually have lifespans in the millions or billions of years anyway so all known civilizations might be destroyed before it undergoes supernova anyway.
