Kappa Carcia System
A star system that is jointly owned between the Sulethis Republic and Tranal Nomads, located in the Retinus Galaxy.
The Kappa Carcia system's most notable feature is the large stellar engine that allows those factions to move the star system on demand. This way, the TN can receive the benefits of planet bound life while remaining relatively mobile - so they have set up a number of small colonies on various planets in the system. The SR also constructed a number of colonies and cities on the various worlds in the system, but neither side has went into extensive efforts to expand the systems infrastructure beyond the stellar engine - as the system mostly serves an experimental purpose.
Should the experiment fail, both the SR and TN can disassemble the stellar engine to receive the resources back. The stellar engine is also powered by the star itself, making it virtually free to operate. It is too large to travel between galaxies, unless the TN is willing to make the several million year journey at velocities extremely close to c.
Some of the TN settlements make use of Graviton Wave Refraction to bend all gravitational forces around them. This causes them to have no gravity at all, making them safe to inhabit by banfranal and various other species that die under gravity.
The planets in the system still have resources to be extracted. The advantages of the sheer scale of such a mobile entity are extensive to the TN; for the first time in history, they can adopt large scale mining, and have been impressed by the sheer number of materials that can be extracted from lava by refining it, and have built a number of new worldships from this material. More valuable materials have been found on other planets, which are also exploited. Due to this, the experiment is currently proving to be more successful, and could even lead to a large change on the TN ideology about mobile star systems. Perhaps they could adopt this idea on a large scale?
