Kal'rat System
Star system of the Sulethis Republic.
The Kal'rat system was the home system of the Kap'tal species, which willingly joined the Tranal Nomads after a worldship of that faction discovered it. The Kaph'tal understood that their homeworld was heating up and looked for options for salvation - the TN worldship was the perfect oppurtunity at a particularly critical time. The Kal'rat system has thus changed owners from the kaph'tal to the TN, but the TN soon left the star system and reported their findings to the SR who now keeps the system.
Sometimes, the kaph'tal return to the system on TN worldships (or smaller ships) as it was their ancestral homeland. Using tranal technology, they can revisit their now hot homeworld safely. There are monuments and other structures there that they pay respect to. Sometimes, other species would join the kaph'tal in this tradition.
The Kal'rat star is a very bright class A star, despite their homeworld being originally cold. This gave it massive seasons as its orbital period was huge. As a result they primarily measured long periods of time in months. They had a large number of longer months of about 200 days each. There are other planets in this star system as well, such as even hotter planets, gas and ice giants as well as asteroid belts. The SR exploits parts of the system, with TN and kaph'tal permission, obtaiing a wide variety of various chemical elements (mostly elemental metals and alloys) that are used to construct more starships or to trade with the TN, among other uses.
