Kal'rat V

A planet in the Kal'rat System which is owned by the Sulethis Republic.
Kal'rat V was very rarely seen by the Kaph'tal pre-spaceflight civilization on Kal'rat III. As such, they did not presume it to be anything, unlike the planets I-IV. Kal'rat V is mostly ice on the surface due to its large proximity form the parent star, with a surface temperature of -20° C. Due to this, the planet has a massive abundance of ice, which is sometimes used in electrolosys to recover hydrogen and oxygen. The Sulethis Republic uses hdrogen as fuel in fusion reactors and oxygen as a catalyst in various chemical reactions or as part of product chemicals, usually. The existnace of the ice implies that the planet was a habitable world and life might have existed there, making it decently valuable as a scientific area but so far no evidence has been found of life. They are considering allowing the  Hyperion Federation to study it.
This planet has 2 large moons. These almost constantly provide a weak light source even at night as sunlight is reflected off them. The closer moon is richer in common metals such as iron wheras the outer moon is richer in rare metals like iridium. The planets mostly inactive core means that it has a weak magnetosphere - and thin atmosphere. This makes it relatively safe to extract, but the SR remain careful as to not cause great damage to the magnetosphere. They have extracted a large amount of metallic materials like this, but the planet is still not above average value.
