Omicron Aques System
A large, class A star located in the Irarus galaxy.
The Aques system is the home system of the Iraran Harkas, who have no typical Harkas-style bioengineering, instead having more regular technology. The system has several planets of various types at various orbital radii which gives the Iraran harkas a massive variety of environments to evolve in.
The star holds a massive population of Astromoeba, allowing life to exist in the system. There are many species including the harkas. Some of these involve massive, man eating megafauna so the harkas have adopted defensive measures against them. The harkas can grow to a maximum size of about 30 meters, but the megafauna can be in the hundreds.
Due to the non-existence of advanced technology, the space harkas cannot visit or invade the planet harkas, or they would re-enter and burn up, not to mention the notion that any gravity would crush a spaceborne harkas under their own weight. One party tried anyway, taking a large airplane-like vehicle to a planet and releasing it into the atmosphere. When the crew was crushed, it lost control and burned up. Parts of the vehicle have crashed into the planet and collected by scientists and scavengers. They were unable to obtain much information.
