Hiragas System
Star system in Arkan that is located quite far from Beta Targos. This system forms the home of the Defence Union.
The Hiragas star is a large, class G main sequence star.
Although the star itself is mostly unremarkable, it is vital for the local ecosystems to obtain energy and survive. The star has a number of planets which orbit it, such as 1 lava planet (Hiragas I), 1 planet with a very thick atmosphere (Hiragas II), a cold habitable planet (Aerior), 1 gas giant (Hiragas IV), 1 barren planet (Hiragas V), 1 gas giant (Hiragas VI), 1 ice giant (Hiragas VII) and 2 very cold barren planets (Hiragas VIII and IX). There is also an asteroid belt between Hiragas IV and Hiragas V which now forms home to many species of spacefaring Arkanian fauna and a large ecosystem. There are also a number of smaller dwarf planets which orbit at extremely large radii but these worlds feature no life due to being extremely cold. However, the HF has set up a number of research bases designed to withstand the cold, to provide a safe haven away from the dangerous ecosystem which seems to try to eat anyone that comes into it.
