GHG Session 46: The Friends You Make Along the Way
General Summary
Month 1, Year 919
The days turned into weeks as the Fortunate Five tried to remedy one of their greatest faults: their inability to speak with the locals they were tasked with protecting. It would take some members of the FF nearly three full months to learn Kiri-Common, but Ysmyrelda and Zan'kiri became the first two to master the language's intricacies. In their time away from studies the party continued with their one-on-one meetings with Kyoko Hara, discussing various plans and concerns about their work for Chusei University. Kyoko recounted her dangerous run-in with Balasar Norixius and first contact with the The Shroud in her meeting with Windred, failing to convince the young kalashtar to fix her attitude problem. She pressed Reetma on his criminal background in Rakka, demanding that the tiefling stay in line if he wanted to avoid being delivered to a Rakkan firing squad. With High Priest Heiwa's help she was able to speak with Teherse'singh and discuss a future expedition to an Old Myltev site near the Oda Clan-controlled town of Shisu. Teherse'singh was also provided with a tour of the Museum of Natural Wonders by Prof. Klute, having a powerful encounter with a mural of the archmage Naum Kulikov and learning about the valuable diamond-covered Nikoliakis Necklace. Kyoko met with Zan'kiri to discuss the threat posed to Ekal by the Gith, offering a shattered Horn of Valhalla to show that she'd be willing to negotiate a swift departure of the Gith on Ekal's behalf if Zan helped support her consolidation of power in the Northern Territories. Bubbles was not given a one-on-one meeting with Kyoko, instead getting a dinner date with Samira Kayhane where the grung got to torment the poor secretary with a variety of monstrous nutella concoctions. Ysmyrelda decided to revoke her non-customer status and sign up for Loopmottin's teleportation service for a single month. Together with Zan'kiri she traveled down to Southern Pescat so the two of them could pick up supplies in Silvio and Galway (Zan traveled via train, making sure that Loopmottin was none the wiser). Ys enjoyed a quick reunion with Leo Mancini, getting him to refurbish her Cap of Intellect so that it wasn't as embarrasing to wear. Sadly her meeting with Leo wasn't the only familiar face she ran into in town: Ys found herself charmed into a conversation with none other than Celio, one of Ilariano Vivaldi's hired thugs and now one of the most influential criminals in town. He still had some hard feelings over how the FF brutally murdered his sister and used her body as a cudgel, so he gave his 'friend' some options on how the debt could be repaid. Ys refused to kill Loopmottin or lose one of her limbs, so she was given an ultimatum to leave the city and never return. She thought she still had time for a late dinner with Leo before leaving, but Celio seemed to disagree as he had one of his agents blow themselves in the Uffizi town square just steps away from Ys. Leo managed to escape the explosion unharmed, helping Ys lay low in a Handgun safehouse and rescuing Loopmottin from any would-be assassins. When Zan'kiri returned to Silvio the next day they all teleported back up to the Northern Territories somewhere in the Kawa Clan borderlands, not Dolian as planned but just three days away by Loopmottin's guess. They all managed to make it to town in the most unpleasant carriage ride imaginable, where Zan'kiri obtained his much-desired adamantium before returning back to Sanjuro City.
