Sjorg Desert

Óraxtap: Sjorg /ʃɔːrk/
Znagrúkic: Úmz /uːmz/

The Sjorg Desert1 is an arid region in southwestern Dragonía, bordering the coast of Súrkniss Sea to the south, the Múlíat Mountains to the west and northwest, the Korrei Desert across the Vikrú River to the north, and a semi-arid plain which divides it from the woodlands to the west.
The desert is inhabited by two distinct groups of Gobíls, namely the Krekkúxes and Óraxes, the former being divided into several countries throughout most of the region while the former rule a strip of land along the central and eastern coast.

Geography

The desert is made up of three distinct regions: sand dunes dotted with oases primarily to the south and west; rugged, rocky terrain near the mountains to the north and west; and a somewhat more fertile region featuring hardy shrubs and trees at the centre and around major lakes, which are the main sources of water in the region and the most reliable ones, as the few rivers that flow into the desert from the mountains all dry up at some point over the year.
The largest of these lakes is Hegal Lake to the north, followed by Gam Lake to the south, Sjáhax Lake to the west, Pastrjú Lake to the east and Nerks Lake to the southeast.

Fauna & Flora

The wildlife in the Sjorg Desert includes Sjerg Antelopes, wild sheep, Akrag Birds, Glar Lions and Níróg Beetles.
