Lássordikía

East-Ázelic: Hmázáze
West-Ázelic: Hneze

Lássordikía is a region in the eastern Múlíat Mountains of southern Dragonía, beyond which the Tærp Mountains begin, which form the eastern half of the southern highlands on the Dragonían continent.
The region is inhabited by two distinct sapient species, namely the reptilian Exíans along the coast of Hahagak Sea to the southwest, Derkniss Sea to the south as well as some of the central parts on one hand, and the arachnid Ázelans to the north, near the edge of the Southern Desert. The latter are native to this land, while Exíans migrated there some 18.000 years ago.
A few centuries prior to the Exían settlement, the insectoid Zkorbs briefly traveled through southern Lássordikía during their wanderings following their exile from central Dragonía, before heading south towards Dakrúzú Peninsula across a narrow strait in the Hahagak Sea.
The name originates among the Exíans, and roughly means Land of the Little Beaked Ones, referring to the different species of birds found near the coast. The Ázelic names essentially mean The Highlands, in contrast to Hmöl, the desert.

Geography

Much of north-central and northeastern Lássordikía is dominated by a mountain range featuring colourful stripes made of alternating bands of different minerals, which the inhabitants regard as sacred, and marks most of the edge of their territories.

Fauna & Flora

Most of the flora and fauna is fairly typical for the Múlíat Mountains as a whole, characterized by ungulates such as Sjerg Antelopes and wild sheep along with reptiles and insects of all sorts, while a number of different species of birds are found to the south, many of which are capable of flight, which is unusual in Dragonía. The wildlife generally fares better in Lássordikía than in most other regions in the highlands, as the Exíans neither hunt nor raise livestock, and the Ázelans require far less sustenance than most other people, thus lessening their impact on the ecosystem.
Several different kinds of nuts and tubers grow in Lássordikía, both in the wild and grown by Exíans.
