Dragonía
Dragonía is a home to many different civilizations and tribes of various origins. The most prominent ones (Ameders, Jaarels, Kroks, Mörkels, Útels, Znagrúks) are found along the coast or near major rivers, while smaller tribes and kingdoms are generally found further inland. A couple of societies inhabit some of the islands off the coast as well.
The flow of magic from the surrounding six elemental worlds affects everything in Dragonía, from the climate to geography to natural disasters. Magic is strongest along the edge of the continent and grows weaker further inland. For example, on Virrem Islands to the far west the stars are so bright that looking directly at them is akin to looking at the sun, due to the high amount of Light magic. The element of Air is strongest in the west, Darkness to the northwest, Water to the northeast, Earth to the east, Fire to the southeast and Light in the southwest.
Geography
The continent of Dragonía consists mostly of steppes to the north and deserts to the south, with forests along the northern and western edges and highlands in the southernmost part. A strange, barren wasteland is located in the center. Archipelagos are found south, southeast, northeast and west of the mainland.
Fauna & Flora
Many different plants and animals are found throughout Dragonía, some familiar to our own world and others quite different. The presence of magic, especially along the coast where the flow of magic is stronger, can be a significant factor in evolution, whether it's finding food, defending against competitors or wooing a potential mate.
Horses and equines in general are unknown in Dragonía, most bird species are flightless to the point of lacking wings altogether, and the largest sea creatures are marine reptiles rather than whales.
